Croissants for morning tea

Recently I put up a photo of some croissants we bought that had a strawberry and cream filling. Today, Vince made some for us to enjoy and you can see the photo above. He didn’t cook them quite long enough and they are a bit small but the next ones will be better. Everyone has to start somewhere. We bought the pastry in sheets and read how to cut the shapes on YouTube. You can learn just about anything now on YouTube. Later this evening, we’re going to the clubroom or our retirement village to watch a movie. Tomorrow, we’ll pick up the caravan and head to Collie to take photos at a horse endurance ride.

@Tampa_girl7 Aldi is a very good grocery store, it was a blessing here, as the Swiss stores had to adjust their prices to keep the clients.

I’ve heard about Aldi, but we don’t have any near me.

We like these ones, that come in a sort of pre-perforated roll (like toilet paper!) that you tear off and roll up.

The croissants look delicious. I will have to research youtube to see if I can make some of these myself, thanks for the idea.

The movie was an English comedy - Booze Cruise II. We enjoyed it very much. They put on a comedy film every week and we go if we can.

I don't see anything wrong with the croissant dessert Vince made. It looks delicious to me. Looking forward to seeing photos from the endurance ride.

@DaddyEvil Neither me. Once my wife made something and said "You didn't tell me that this dish lacked salt?" I responded :"I ate almost salt-less stuff in UK when I had two short stays there, so I am used to it." Yet she never appreciates this and at times, has proclaimed me to be the biggest fool on the earth. Yet I am awaiting a cash reward for such proclamation by some Rich International Organization. I wonder when it would come!

@JudyEv You tell Vince anytime he wants to make something for someone who'd appreciate his efforts, he can make stuff for me... I promise not to complain.

He didn't poke a skewer in them so they were a bit doughy. Needed a few minutes more cooking time. But it's all a learning curve.

@JudyEv Even my Mum didn't make actual puff pastry, and she was a domestic science teacher. She used to make a quicker version called 'rough puff'.

@Fleura We made rough puff at school - and puff - and short! Now I buy them in sheets if I need them. Times have changed.

I'm sure you'll all enjoy them if and when you make them. The ready-made pastry makes it easier. I remember making puff pastry at school - what a rigmarole!

Croissants is one of my favorites and I love it with my tea too. I don't know how to make them so I just buy from our local bakery and their croissants are small too and pricey than other breads.
