Mums and Pumpkins

Happy Thursday Everyone! When will this cycle of rain end? hopefully sometime today. I really miss seeing the sun.
The temperatures have been on the warm side for October so I haven't totally gotten into the swing of the Fall season yet. Most of my neighbors have already decorated for Halloween and my stuff is still in the garage. Maybe over the weekend we'll drag it out and decorate.
For the past few years I've gotten some very big mums from the high school when they do a fundraiser. They offered so many different color selections and the price was extremely reasonable. They didn't do it last year (due to Covid) and I didn't see anything about it this year.
Mums always looked so pretty on my front porch.
Maybe I can find some locally or I might just get a big pumpkin from the local farm.
If I procrastinate much longer it will be too late and time for the Christmas decorations.
Next trip to Sams Club and we'll pick up the candy for Halloween.
Meanwhile, it's time for my coffee (not pumpkin spice 
)

@Marilynda1225 A cake made with chestnut flour, I will top it with whipped cream. Chestnut flour in October here is as popular as pumpkin spices in your country.

@LadyDuck I never heard of chestnut flour so that's why I asked. Your cake sounds good especially the whipped cream part I'm a big fan of sweets so anything cake or cookies is right up my alley

We finally got sun this afternoon so I enjoyed sitting outside for awhile. Pretty soon it will be too cold to be outside

I was not able to celebrate Halloween last year due to covid but this year I plan to celebrate and giveaway chocolates and candies. I hope the kids are allowed to roam around

Our kids are allowed to trick or treat this year and I'm sure they will be happy after losing out last year. I'm sure your trick or treaters will love getting chocolates

I have a pumpkin and a mum outside, but the mum looks like it is dying. I should have been watering it. but I thought we were going to get rain before we did.

Mums are pretty hardy so maybe if you water it it will come back to life?

It's gotten warm here (high 70s to 80s) so it was nice enough to sit outside and enjoy some fresh air.
I love fall weather especially when it's cool and crisp but you only need a sweater when you go out.

@Juliaacv looks like we might have some nice weather over the next few days so I'm hoping to spend more time outside. I know my days are numbered for being outside and I feel like I lost out since we had such a miserable summer. It's getting dark so much earlier these days so I know we're going to be complaining about the cold soon enough.

I don't know how many kids we'll actually get for trick or treating but I'll have candy ready. I'm not going to do a lot of decorating since we'll be getting the downstairs of the house painted right after Halloween and I don't want a whole bunch of extra stuff to have to get rid of before the painting starts.

@Marilynda1225 Hoping they go cheap at the auction today. For me 6 dollars there was too much. But I priced them in town yesterday and they are that at least. Many were higher

I haven't priced the mums yet and I'm really disappointed that our high school isn't selling them. Hope you find some at a good price

what not pumpkin spice? That is seasonal treason!
all things in the fall must be pumpkin spiced! Especially the mums!
