The Unusual Food in Asia

In Japan, they love to eat tuna's eyes, either raw or steam them with soy sauce and garlic. In India, they use lamb's brains in curry or fried them with eggs and tomatoes. In China, they love to eat exotic foods, such as bats, frogs, etc. In the Philippines, we love to eat street foods, such as 'beta max' (pig's blood), 'isaw' (chicken's small intestines), etc. Have you ever tried unusual foods? Would you like to try them? Image Credit: holidify.com

People in India will shiver to hear. But personally I have no aversion. I have eaten, frogs, snakes and foxes.

I am not that keen enough to try all the strange foods bestowed upon me. Yesterday, I refused to eat rabbit meat.

In Italy we eat calf's brain, battered and fried, I like it. We also eat tongue and it's good and tripe. I have tried all what above and snails and frogs in France.

That's a new thing to know about the calf's brain. I haven't tried eating frogs. The tongue and snails were tried in the local province here.

@Shavkat Frog legs taste like chicken, with a little hint of fish. In France they make frog legs with butter garlic and parsley and the taste of the sauce is definitely better than the frog meat.

@LadyDuck I heard that it is like chicken meat. The thought of eating it makes me feel like a chicken.

@Shavkat for as long as it is presented nice and neat then I think I can. I like trying new dishes but of course, it should be presentable and clean before I jump into it.

@rsa101 I do agree that I must see how they were done. Then, I am fine with that.

I've eaten frogs. They are usually cooked to a spicy taste. I didn't eat snakes. However, some areas in southern China like to eat snake meat. Bats may be eaten by few people

Can I ask something? I read about the origin of coronavirus started by eating bats in your country. Is it true?

@zhangxueying Well, it is a piece of widespread news that China claimed it comes from bats.
