On Halloween day, I was rushed to the hospital after my morning breakfast. I experienced some discomfort and pain that was unexpected. I had visited the doctor two days back and was assured that the baby is doing good and would come around the expected date of second week of November. But then the discomfort grew and I was taken to hospital and immediately admitted. At 2:30 PM I delivered my younger daughter. It's been 15 years and it just seems like yesterday.
I remember going to the hospital on the Halloween day and everywhere in Pheonix, Arizona we could see the Halloween decorations including the hospital. Even some of the staffs were in costume in the hospital. Well, my girl was not ready to wait for another two weeks and chose the Halloween day to come to this world
It's 11:41 PM here as I write this post. I am tired and sleepy. But I want to be awake for few more minutes to wish her at 12. She has made it clear that nobody will fall asleep without wishing her. She never misses to wish us at midnight for our special days.
She is full of life and loves every little celebration. And definitely one can not go with a simple day when it's her day. So, tomorrow will be eventful and it would go the way she plans it.
I will just mylot for a while before it is time to wish her

@arunima25 Yes, circumstances change before we are ready for them. Learn to let go - is what the Buddha said, but tough for parents!
It is an empty nest for parents at times! My son left for Australia and later to the UK before he was 17 though we are in regular touch. He visits us often and we do too whenever we can.

The memory always remains fresh of these precious moments. I am sure it must have been a wonderful experience for both you and your wife. 14 years is a long wait for the want of the child. God is always kind and your prayers were answered
My girls are 17 and 15. Elder one will soon join the legal adult club in another six months and moving out for college next year. Never realised that the time will fly so soon.

Yes busy indeed!
We have lots of homeworks+ study and one of my certification exam coming up.
To add to the list, some pending paperwork, busy work week next week and one of the family members to have a follow up checkup.

Very true! Some memories keep coming back to us. I remember each detail. It just seems like yesterday though it's more than 15 years.

. It's a big relief. Now I can catch my breath. Younger one is busy with her preboard exams for class 10. She is in Karnataka board and it's first preboard. Two more might be there in January and February. Elder one is writing board exams for 12. So, it's busy time at work and family.

I stayed for almost 10 years in the US. We stayed in Phoenix for almost 3 years.

It's not a holiday in India. But glad that children know about Halloween and they enjoy the Halloween party that we have thrown on her birthday. Next day that is 1st Nov is a state holiday in Karnataka. So, she is happy about that. Her friends stay for sleepover on her birthday as there is no school the next day.

I was there for almost 12 years. We were out of India for 14 long years. It was on my husband business trip. We stayed in the US( various states), UK, South Africa and Japan. Well, nothing feels like home the way India doesSo,we came back in 2014. My husband still travels a lot.
