The second sad phone call came this morning

My cousin called us this morning to tell us his mama, my Aunt Deannie passed away.
It was two days after the death of her brother, my Uncle Asa.
They both died of Alzheimers, although my aunt had a stroke at the end.
I know they're together in heaven and celebrating with so many of our family members.
Deannie's funeral will be either this Friday or Sunday and Asa's will be Saturday. That way out of state relatives can spend the night here.
Thank you so much for all the love and prayers. It's hard to believe we're having two funerals in two days.

Thank you Tiara. Five out of seven siblings are gone now. I have two uncles left and I think they have maybe the beginnings of Alzheimers.

@RebeccasFarm Do you have any family beside your son?

I know, but people who are close tend to pass close together. At least both are at peace.

@1creekgirl Altimizers does take people differently and at different times. It can cause strokes, but at the same time, if your aunt and uncle were close, that could've been a contributing factor, too. Just not as obvious.

@kaylachan Someone said they thought my aunt was waiting for my uncle to pass before she would. That could be true, I guess. She was extremely shy and next to the youngest of the children. Uncle Asa was one of the older ones (she was 80 and he was 89) and he always looked out for her.

My aunt didn't have Alzheimers as long as my uncle did, but we think she had a stroke which hastened the end.

Absolutely are many mansions. And my Grannie now has five of her seven children with her. I wonder if she's allowed to cook chicken and pastry in heaven.

You are so right. I couldn't bear this without the peace that passes all understanding from Jesus.
