Yesterday felt like September today feels like December, and tonight should really be quite cold. Brilliant sunshine though for the moment. Anyway, Someone posted on Nextdoor last night that a bear is on the loose in this zipcode and has killed 3 pigs and a sheep! Wow, they are opportunistic feeders, and I figured they would kill fawns if given an opportunity..but that kind of thing sounds like something a wolf or a coyote would do. Anyway, I don't even know the area they are talking about. This particular zipcode covers a lot of territory and parts of two counties. There is one that roams this neighborhood as well, but it seems to show up randomly and not on a regular basis. No one has posted about it for awhile.

I like bears. Humans are moving in on wildlife so we're going to have to deal with them more and hopefully in a just manner.

Hopefully, only those that pose an imminent threat to people should be moved.

Today was like September, may be tomorrow will be the same, but it's the end of the nice days. Bears are voracious animals and surely they are getting ready to hibernate, they eat everything they can.

Yes, they want to get as much fat as possible this time of the year.

@LadyDuck Not so much to people, but you do want to stay out of their way.

Yes they will eat what they can. There are lots of bears around this way too and coyotes and mountain lions and moose and elk. In peoples yards and the graveyards. Very close by here.

I am sure. Hopefully, they keep to the mountains for the most part.

We have random bear sightings here too in our town and people post pictures of it on FB. We have lots of wildlife but bears do scare me a little. My son and daughter in law live in the Poconos and one day a bear was on their deck looking in their sliding glass doors. The dogs were going crazy but the bear wasn't even phased. My daughter in law took a picture to show us and I wouldn't have been able to hold the camera still enough I'd be shaking so bad.

I wouldn't want to see it either. I would be thinking if it had a mind to, it could break in. Maybe that is why I haven't mounted my wildlife cam yet, maybe I am a lttle afraid of what it might show! Honestly, there is very little that would surprise me.

@snowy22315 I wouldn't want one of those cameras either. I'd rather not know what's wandering around after dark

There was a bear that came pretty close to my home a few months ago. It did not stay for very though.

@Scrapper88 I know there has been one in this development. It was caught on a security cam.

@snowy22315 I did not see it. A few people that saw it said it got around a couple of miles from my home.

Hopefully, the bear (or other creature) doesn't come to any harm from humans. We infringe so much on all natural spaces, that it is really hard for them to avoid humans and livestock.

There is a bear hunting season on Nov 22. Not that many places legally available to hunt though. I don't want to see a bear killed just for being a bear though

That is scary, a bear in the hood. I hope that you never go out alone, just in case. I don't want you to become bear-food.

Yeah, actually although I am the only one who does it so I feel kind of stupid, I carry a heavy walking stick with me when I walk around here most of time. Where I walk has woods on either side, so I just feel safer.

That bear has probably learnt that pigs and sheep are relatively easily caught. It certainly has an appetite.

Scary thought that a bear is on the loose killing farm animals. Today does feel much more like December than September.
