How to spoil Christmas

Some idiot, for whatever reason, crashed through a Christmas parade in the city of Waukesha, Wisconsin Sunday afternoon, killing 5 and injurying 40 or more attendees. I hope none of you were there. There are other ways to spoil Christmas, such as the year uncle-in-law Bob got roaring drunk out in the living room and started a fight with the "real" uncles. My tiny 90 pound grandmother dragged one of the real uncles into the dining room and sat on him to keep him from punching out Bob's lights. I'm not really sure what he said to start it, but I think it was something that disrespected my grandmother. (I was in the dining room when it started, and stayed there until things calmed down.) Never did like Bob, even before he married my aunt Vi. Hope no one spoils your Christmas/ Hannuka/Festivus...
Video shows a red SUV speeding through the annual holiday event in Waukesha. Adults and children were among the victims.

I have an uncle that is something like this. He could easily spoil Christmas for a lot of the family.

I cannot begin to understand what possesses an individual to commit such senseless acts of violence like this. We have always had loving and fun Christmas gatherings, and I do not expect that to change.

Remember back in 2018 when that idiot ran down those people in Toronto? He had a grudge against women. Maybe this guy has a grudge against Christmas, or Christmas stuff coming out before thanksgiving.

They can't publish his name until he's been arraigned. He's got "rights", y'know...

@RebeccasFarm The person of interest is being questioned by police and been identified as Darrell Brooks. He has a lengthy criminal record, since the 1990's.

No, he intentionally drove into the crowd. It was reported that he fled a "domestic disturbance" before police got to the home.

How awful and tragic is that. Why would somebody do such a terrible thing? Totally heartbreaking for those families who have lost loved ones.

How about watching your drunken uncle try to strangle his wife in the living room because she did not take his boots off properly? That was fun.

I read about this. Your gram sounds like a spitfire. Some people just shouldn't drink.

Yes, but some will be traumatised for a long time to come, even if they weren't physically hurt.

It strikes me as funny that during the lockdowns in 2020 things were calmer and violence seemed down but now that more places have lifted the lockdown criminals are at it again.
