Our village held a Christmas market

Our lifestyle village recently held a Christmas fair/market in our clubrooms. There was a great variety of goods on display and for sale at very reasonable prices. One resident had an amazing display of jewellery which she makes in her home. There was a raffle, a door prize and afternoon tea. Knitted toys were on offer and quite a few home-made Christmas decorations.
I bought some jars of strawberry and blueberry jam and some waxed food covers. They will probably get used as Christmas presents. Many of the residents are now starting to up decorations on the fronts of their houses. We will put up some coloured lights soon too. All in all, it is pretty obvious that Christmas is just around the corner.
Our plans today include licensing the car. We will take our books with us to the licensing centre as we are bound to have to wait.
We are also going to Ikea for two small cupboards That should be the last of the Ikea purchases for the moment. It is the other side of the city for us so it’s not somewhere we go to without specific purchases in mind.

I love a Christmas fair/market that sells different handmade items! We have a facility in our city, that does this each Christmas. Ikea makes some nice items, very durable and strong. Jay went to license our vehicles two days ago, so we don't forget. His Birthday is Dec. 23, when the licenses would expire.

@kobesbuddy I'd also lost a security card that you need to get into the clubhouse. I had to use Vince's if I went there on my own. But I found that the other day too so I'm set now - that is until I lose something else.

@JudyEv Oh I'm so glad you have a new pension card! I lost my immunization record(for Covid) and wasn't happy about it:( Finally, I did find it in my personal medical records:)

The image above displays a sense of activity, cheerfulness and positivity.
Overall, a great post and I can feel how overjoyed you are after this Fair.
Did you buy any stuff there?
Here too people are preparing for the Christmas Day, though not as much as in Australia or perhaps the Western world.

I would have loved getting Blueberry jam. We don't get it commonly here.

I shall be putting up some lights in the front window. Nothing exciting, but make people think I am getting into the spirit of the things. Whenever I go anywhere, I take my trusty ebook with me and have quite a large selection of books to plough through

@JudyEv That's what we need. We are so isolated from people these days.

Your Christmas market came too soon but that is better than rushing Christmas shopping. Glad that people can go there and do early shopping for gifts.

The main Christmas craft show I like to go to, wasn't held this year, I don't know if it was covid corncerns or what. There are others around though. I might see if I can go to something this weekend. Always love a good Christmas craft show.

In our park near us there are night market all night for Christmas. There are also live singers on the stage to entertain the shoppers

That is so cool!
A question, though: as summer is just starting on December 25, do Australians laugh uncontrollably at people singing things like “I’m dreaming of a white Christmas”?
