A street party in a pocket park

I now live in a gated lifestyle village. There are around 120 houses. The last dozen or so are still being finished. Where there isn’t room for a house or the shape is too odd, a ‘pocket park’ has been established.
One of these tiny parks has been developed as a putting practice green; one is equipped with exercise equipment and a third is a barbecue area. The latter is directly opposite our front door. The village is divided by a number of very short streets. Mostly people walk down the middle of these streets as there is next to no traffic.
Today, we’re having a Christmas street party at the new barbecue. Vince is going to put some faily lights shortly to make the area look more festive. We have two trestles and a dozen plastic chairs that we will take over. It will be 33C here today but by 6pm it should have cooled off somewhat.
The photo is of the barbecue pocket park as it looks at the moment. Hopefully, I’ll have another photo later showing it in its Christmas wrapping.

There are two more park benches down to the left but they are a bit far from the barbecue. The village has its wn FB group so we've put on there that people can borrow our trestles and chairs any time they want to.
The dillbob is an electric barbecue hotplate.

Who is bringing the food? Is it a potluck sort of thing?

I hadn't heard of them before. Although they are small, it's somewhere you can sit for a while I guess. Vince took his putter and a few balls to the putting green but the 'fairway' had a slight uphill slope to the hole but there was also a tiny lip round the hole. You had to have enough speed to get up the slope and over the lip but not enough for the ball to go right over the top. After getting one ball in the hole in 45 tries, he gave up and we went home.

that is such a fun idea! it makes the houses seem bigger, when there is space that isn't houses every once in a while!

@JudyEv our neighborhoods have huge greenways between them. but in the neighborhood it is like the houses are cards, stacked one on top of the other!
