Just got home with Brendel from her vet appointment.
She was given a 10-day supply of Prednisolone (liquid).
While both have similar effects, prednisolone is the metabolized form of prednisone. Prednisone must be metabolized by the liver before it can be used effectively.
The goal of steroids is get an immediate respiratory response if the cat is in distress. The cat can then be transitioned to inhaled steroids for regular management.
We will see how she reacts to this treatment. Hoping for the best. She was starting to get dehydrated. Fluids were given as well.
Thanks to all of you that are asking about Brendel. Hopefully I can talk about flowers or coffee or a sunset or Eeyore or something else soon.
The Dude has been such a good "little" brother to her.
