A Day Late With Black-Eyed Peas

Have always had black-eyed peas and cornbread on New Year's Day. Suppose to be for good luck. Who knows for sure. But I enjoy them just the same.
Not my photo here. Mine are still cooking. Also pork chops in the oven and will make mashed potatoes as well. Should be a good dinner.
Has been raining off and on most of the day. Maybe snow showers soon. Will see what happens. Hopefully I can get photos.

I'm not familiar with black eyed peas and cornbread not common here. Your dinner sounds good. There sky is clear today and sunny outside

@CarolDM Do you bake them in the oven, like baked beans?

@kobesbuddy No, just boil them on top of the stove like other peas or beans. I add a little ham or pork seasoning. You can also buy them dry, in the bag, and cook them in the slow cooker.

I love black eyed peas, and had them January 1 and 2. Hubby will not eat them. More for me.

I have always heard Pork and Sauerkraut for New Years, different strokes for different folks i guess. I do actually have some pork here, but I haven't made it yet. Maybe I should buy some sauerkraut..
