What's New?

Happy Thursday Everyone! looks like snow is headed our way and we should wake up tomorrow morning seeing white stuff on the ground. So far the forecast is for between 2 inches and 4 inches but who knows what we'll wind up with. Shouldn't be too much trouble unless those totals go way up. We might see the sun today peeking out from behind those gray clouds but it's still hovering around the freezing mark. Let's see what I have to talk about today..... Well, my grandson tested positive for Covid. He just celebrated his 17th birthday on Tuesday and yesterday he tested positive. It was really a surprise when I got the news. He works at the local nursing/assisted living home and has to be tested before any shift. All this time he's always tested negative (even through all of 2020). Yesterday he wasn't so lucky. Now he's quarantining and so is the rest of his family. He'll be doing his school work online and his dad, mom and sister won't be going to work. Naturally they won't be visiting here any time soon either. This is the third family of mine that Covid has hit. First it was my daughter in law back in November and she was extremely ill. Then my middle daughter tested positive right before Christmas and couldn't join the family for the holidays. Now this (my oldest daughters family). All I'm doing is hoping and praying that not only are my family members okay but also everyone else. This virus seems to be spreading faster and faster. That's my news for today..... Any good news for you today?

I am sorry to read this news Marilyn It seems to be running rampant that is for sure. I believe my nephew and his girlfriend both have it, they have been off work for a week now. The testing places cant keep up. I pray health on your family.

@RebeccasFarm that's sad your nephew has to work while having covid but I'm sure there's lots of people who are in the same boat as he is. Never in my life did I ever think we'd be dealing with a plague such as this.

I am so sorry for your grandson, I hope it is a mild form of Covid, if he works at your local nursing home I suppose he was vaccinated.

Yes he's been vaccinated and has to test before every shift. So far he's feeling okay and I'm hoping it's just a few days and he'll be able to get back to school and life.

He told me he just feels a bit tired but he burns the candle at both ends so who knows if it's covid related or just plain teenage tired.

I'm sorry he tested positive. I hope it won't hit him badly and he can get back to work when the quarantine is over. Nothing new here. Just more snow. Loving it.

I do hope your grandson recovers quickly. Infections are going through the roof in our eastern states but we're still virus-free in West Aust.

@Marilynda1225 The worry is that it affects everybody differently. Some get really sick and others not at all.

I am trying not to listen or hear any news about it lately. I hope that this virus stops soon. My family and I were infected before. But we are fine now. I hope it will be controlled there.

The snowflakes were dancing here earlier this morning but they've stopped their performance. Nobody's asking for an encore. The sun's come out but it is cold (-3°C) so I'm staying in. Sorry about your grandson and his family. Maybe it'll only be as bad as a regular cold. (Funny how we don't hear anyone saying they have a cold or the flu.)

I am so sorry to hear your grandson has Covid. Our son has it and is extremely fatigued. Waiting for his teenaged son to be tested. I'll pray for your family.

Omicron, is very much easier to catch. Being just over my covid attack, still don't know which one, 10 days of isolation done Tuesday. Glad family almost done with covid. Many locally praying to Saint Giles for protection from coronavirus & it's variants. Holy Christ protect us and help us all, amen. Thank you, Holy Christ.
