I got to pull a prank on my buddy after hiking today!

I went hiking with my professional story teller friend, Michael, today. It was an easy hike, on flat terrain, and mud was not an issue. I wore my hiking boots and he wore...his new red sneakers! I started singing "I love my red shoes...I love my red shoes..." from the Pete the Cat children's book. To my surprise, he did not know the book. I've read it to preschoolers literally hundreds of times. I snarled. After our hike, I was heading to my truck to bring it near his, so he could give me some stereo gear to test out. I encountered some young people who were stretching for a late afternoon jog on the same trail that Michael and I had just hiked. Three gals and one guy, I think. I asked them if they could pull a small prank on my friend and they said yes. I said when you get to that guy over there, can you sing, "I love your red shoes! I love your red shoes!" We rehearsed it quietly. As I made it to my truck, I secretly watched as they jogged by him, still stretching and flexing. Then I heard it: "I love your red shoes! I love your red shoes!" Michael laughed out loud as I fired up my truck to bring it next to his Prius. Now that I think about it, he and I didn't even discuss my prank as we loaded some stereo gear into the back of my truck. Do you ever pull little pranks on your friends?

I like to do it but I am fearful due to the saying "A joke is funny until you are the victim and it is hilarious."

Michael and I occasionally pull harmless pranks on each other.

He said it took him about a second...maybe two. I heard him laugh out loud across the parking lot. I wonder if he'll "get me back."

I would love to pull pranks on people but pranks require imagination.

I consider myself imagination-challenged as well. But sometimes an opportunity just overwhelms me.

@TheHorse Never, he thinks it's childish and I know he is right, I should stop being childish.

Love it! Maybe he didn't even realise it was a prank, he just thought the joggers had had the same thought as you?

That would have been so funny. The young people would have enjoyed the joke too. Vince has some bright red sneakers. We call them his 'Pope' shoes as the pope wears red slippers.
