What is the terrain like in your area?

So, where you live, is it mountainous, flat or somewhere in between? Is it easy to walk? My area is what the call the Piedmont, because it is in between the ocean and the mountains. The further North and West you go, the hillier it gets. The snow is accentuating the hills, There is a large hill between my next door neighbor on my right and myself, which I don't notice too much other times of the year..the one to the left of me though, it is flat between here and there. What about your area?

Here it is somewhere in between. It never floods here to the extent where water gets in the house so it's not flat. It's easy to walk around so it's not like a mountain. Just in between. Sometimes I walk and feel like I'm going upwards or downwards but it's not like a hill

My city lies on top of a plateau in the Ozark Mountains. It's hilly for miles and then every direction we go has a slow decline.

@DaddyEvil Yeah, that is on the high side. The elevation here is not nearly that much.

I live among hills, the mountains are all around, our area not bad to walk, but not flat. Not even my garden is flat.

@LadyDuck My walking route here is pretty flat only one small hill I have to deal with, it isn't a big deal. Now, there is a bigger hill that is a pain in the neck but I choose not to go down and up it. I have walked it before and if the weather isn't perfect it is very taxing.

North of us is hilly. South of us is relatively flat terrain, with lots of city dwellings, subdivisions, fields and farmland. The farther west we drive, the land is quite hilly.

@snowy22315 We are on a fairly flat terrain, no hills or valleys. We are right next to Lake Huron.

My area is flat, And it come between two mountain which were cut down to create city. This makes my area vulnerable during flood and heavy rain.

Hmm, that sounds like it could be a threat..from rain pouring down the mountains.

@snowy22315 Yes you are correct, my place will be the first to get impacted due to rain.

@snowy22315 I am 50kms away from water bodies so we only have floods in rainy season because of world's best drainage system we got here

I live not too far from the coastline so no mountains just a fIat terrain. The lower elevation and proximity to the water many times keeps our snowfall from accumulating too much. I bet the kids in your area enjoy those hills when it snows

I live among hills which are covered with pines and olive groves. There is nowhere flat enough to enjoy a walk. The hills drop down to the sea and beyond that I can sea the Island of Evia with hills leading up to mountains. There is just one peak with snow on at present.

Olive groves sound nice. The most predominant trees around here are oaks, but there are quite few pines as well. You can walk here as well, however, down the main street here in the development it is quite hilly. I walk on some flatter side roads.

Same! I live in the Piemonte/Piedmont region. We have the Alps to the North and the West, no ocean though. However, I'm located somewhere in the green area, the plains, flat. Easy to walk unless you end up on unkept roads, which are not that uncommon.

Piedmont! My brother’s prop-plane airline of choice to take home on leave! (Piedmont was, at the time, I think the only airline that flew out of Norfolk.) Kentucky has a wide variety of terrain, ranging from the Mississippi River in the west to the Appalachian Mountains in the east.

My area is countrified so it's mostly flat with cornfields and woods. I live in a community so there's houses all around me. Above me (about 45 min away) are the Pocono Mts.

The mountains here are more like an hour away, but you can see them about 45 minutes from here. It is mountainous around the Charlottesville area.

It sounds pretty. This is a beautiful area around here, but the weather in the summer is a killer. Waay, too humid.
