The last I heard

The last I herd the temperature of the pool is 70 -74. I am not taking my student swimming today. At the first of the month when we had all the wind and we lost power, the motor for the pool pump was fried. They had to order one, wait for it, then get it installed. Then they had to fire up the boiler and start to bring the temperature back up. It is getting there. Usually it is 84 degrees when we swim. To get to the pool we have to walk across a street and to the far end of the parking lot where there is a wheel chair ramp. I am not doing that today in 30 degree weather, to swim in a 70 degree pool. Nuh uh. Nope.

I got a right candidate to ask about my doubts -- So when I stay under shower for over 10 mins, my fingers will kind of swell up. And it becomes kind of numb How one stay in swimming pool for that long ? Don't you get those kind of problems

We are only in the water about thirty minutes, and I do not seem to pucker or shrivel, but I know what you mean. Perhaps it has to do with water temperature as well.

I don't blame you. For some reason swimming doesn't appeal to me when it's cold outside.

The swimming itself is not too bad, but walking back and forth to the aquatic center is a bear.

I imagine it's a lot harder for you than it would be for me.

Too cold to swim, all the student would get sick.

@GardenGerty One more reason to avoid, I am sure you do not want to see your student sick.

I don't blame you for waiting for the temp in the pool to be warmer before getting back in it. Hope your student will understand and be patient.

He does not understand the concepts, but he also does not understand a calendar and that it is his day to go. He will be okay. His parents are the ones who throw fits.

I have not gone for swimming since the pandemic. All swimming pools are closed here. They opened for a while when cases were in control but I didn't go..Now they are shut again.

When my student and I go we are alone or there are one or two more people. I would not want to go in a crowd.

I won’t attempt to swim if the weather is too cold

This student's parents want him to swim as often as possible. If the pool is not too cold we do okay.

It would have to be at least body temperature for me to get in an indoor pool.

They never heat it that warm. 84 F is about the highest.

I'm sure you're making the right decision. I can imagine it would take quite a while for a pool to heat up from scratch.

My hobby is swimming. Due to my busy schedule I can't able to spend time for swimming. Enjoy your day.
