So here I am awake far earlier then I want to be. I woke at 5 am after 4 hours sleep. I truly wanted more.
Was laying here wishing they'd turn up the heat. my phone says it's 45 degrees out and my room says it's 75 in here but it sure don't feel like it. Feels colder.
Anyway, my mind was just wandering as we do if just laying in the quiet and looking through the photos of my kids when they were little my mind went back to my third husband, the old guy. I say that because he was 20 yrs. older then me and used to have a crush on my mom when they were teenagers
which I didn't know about for yrs.
I didn't love him when we got together but he talked me into going with him and taking my 4 kids (at the time) to California. Being sick of freezing in Ohio snow at the time, he sold me on it
From there went our adventure of traveling all over the USA, kids in tow, and working on farms.
This is a photo of my 2 youngest playing in the plum orchard as we picked plums. I guess you could say we were like gypsies for about 8 yrs.
Ever just roam around the country like that? Are you cold this morning/evening too?

It was great fun mostly when we traveled but it was a lot of work and a bit of struggle. before I settled down for good with my last hubby. I was ready for staying home

@bunnybon7 We didn't have kids and weren't trying to get work so really it was a totally different scenario.

It's 60F here and getting warmer. I need to get up, eat something, change my bedding and start laundry. I just don't want to.
There's also a discussion I want to start today, too... We'll see how everything goes.
Pretty and I used to go places when she was little just to ask why a town/city had a different (read "odd" there
) name. Sometimes there was a nice story waiting for us and sometimes all we got was people shrugging their shoulders. It was still fun just traveling all over the place.

It is and I would have to say out of all the places we went, AZ and KY had the most towns with funny and unusual names.

@bunnybon7 The Missouri Bootheel has a ton of little townships and "cities" with really weird names, too. And yes, Arizona was one of the places we went to.

It's around 45 degrees here right now, I have my heater set on 70 but it feels colder then that to me. I think it's the units that we have here in the south, I don't think their meant for to low of a temp.

this old house we rent has a very old fashioned thermostat that is hard to adjust, so it just never seems to get set right.

@bunnybon7 Part of my problem is, I live in an old double wide and it don't hold the heat very well. I had a new thermostat put in but that didn't make any difference, it still stays cilly in here. I would turn my heat up higher, but then my light bill would be so high I couldn't afford to pay it.

@sweetashoney Same situation here in this old house. Doesn't hold the heat nor air in the summer.

You had a very adventurous life Bonnie. I dont blame you, you did what was best at that time.
A nice photo and good memories.
I am sorry if you are cold there..I have nothing but space heaters here so I know what the cold does.

I hope you was alright through the winter storm there. Space heaters don't usually make great heat.

Cute picture. I didn't realize that you lived here in s**wy Ohio. What part of Ohio? I've never roamed around the country. It's around 40 degrees here now. Will rain, the temps will drop; and then we will be getting a major snow storm. Have a good day.

Married there, had all my kids there, but ended up traveling around again with 3rd husband. etc. Lived different place in Ohio. Born in Portsmouth right across the bridge from KY where my dad was from. Then, lived in Mansfield a while Cleveland and Columbus

I miss it too. Yes being an only child myself, I loved the idea to have my kids sisters and brothers and the joy and sound of large family around me for each other

@Anqaya so true. Because of all my wonderful kids, I've had occasion to see both sides in my life. I still think we are happier with more family around and siblings.

@bunnybon7 I am also an only child. I also want siblings. A family with many bros and sis is a cheerful family. Meanwhile we face all the boredom.

@bunnybon7 - I am so well at home, it is no more a pleasure to travel. Crowded roads, problems at the airports.

That's really a cute picture. I love looking at old pictures and reminiscing about days gone by especially when my kids were little.
When I got up this morning it was only 12 degrees so yes it's cold here today.

No I never roamed. But I had read a folklore about my last name involving Hungarian gypsies. This morning I wasn't cold, but last night I was a little cold.
