I wish I could. To know any student well the teachers need to pay attention.

He does not have expressive language, but he does understand things. Some of his behaviors indicate what he is feeling. I think building a relationship is key. His body language and behaviors are how he gets his message across. The key is to expose him to more and more concepts as well as to have expectation that he will learn.

@GardenGerty I hope you can help this child. One of my nephews had to have tutoring to help him.

@wolfgirl569 More often his parents send him to school, even when he feels bad. We can tell.

I agree, and it seems like this is the best he has felt since about Thanksgiving.

Yes, sometimes he gets so frustrated he bites the backs of his hands. We try to teach him other things to do or give him an item that is designed to chew.

Could be. He also could have been planning how he will challenge me.

It was a sunny day. Yes, he definitely likes the sun. He also really enjoys windy days and tries to catch the wind in his mouth.

Hard to say. He could be like my sister, Cassie. He doesn't understand the bad parts of the world, and finds the joy in the simplest of things.

That would be fun. Even with regular kids, though, there is often a hidden secret joke.
