An interview with our pseudo grand-daughter

We will never be grandparents but we ‘borrow’ little kids from time to time – like when we want to go to a circus. We are good mates with Vince’s god-daughter and her children. They now live in South Australia but yesterday she rang on behalf of her eldest child. The eldest wants to interview Vince for some school project. He will be sent a list of questions by email then she will talk to him over the phone. So that will be something to look forward to. I hope you like the photos of her (and her brother, Mum and Hercules). She is now more of a young lady but I don’t have more recent photos although she hasn’t changed much.

I still think that's kind of cool, really. Who says grandkids have to be blood?

Vince loves kids and it's a bit sad that we don't have any 'blood' ones. As you say, others can be just as much fun.

@JudyEv It was like that for my husband - he would have made a wonderful grandfather.

It doesn't really worry me but Vince so loves kids that now we're older, I'm a bit sad for him.

You couldn't have chosen cuter grands, they are all adorable. I love the sheep tied up to haul the children's wagon, that is good use of the animal.

@JudyEv Hercules must be a popular name for sheep, I remember your Herc fondly. Ellie would be sitting in the wagon, she's all about being catered to as she ages.

That's Hercules. He was the most lovable pet. Just the tiniest bit better than Ellie.

Herc was so lovely! I remember that great photo of the skinny sister and the BIG brother, I love it, it brings a smile on my face.

@LadyDuck I have a photo of my son and his friend when they were about four. They are as different as chalk and cheese too.

Kids change every day. We're just too close to notice the changes until they jump out and bite us on the nose, like seeing the photos you have there. I remember telling someone that Pretty didn't change when she was growing up and then they pointed out just how mistaken I was. I'm glad you and Vince have "grandkids" to love and cherish.

Vince in particular loves kids. I'm a bit sad for him that we don't have any of our own. But yes, they grow up and change very quickly.

They probably see us as very old (which I guess we are, sort of) I wonder what he'll be asked. At least he never had to use a slate! lol

The married couple can't have children and the other one isn't married so we won't have grandchildren of our own. But that's okay. We're much luckier than some.

It's lovely to have some 'pseudo' relatives. I have acquired quite a few adopted 'rellies' over the years. I wonder what the interview will be - 'Tell us about life 100 years ago' maybe??

I have a little booklet where a student interviewed my mother but she was probably older (my Mum that is). I'm wondering if the questions will be similar.

My children had a few pseudo grandparents themself. Their "real" grandparents were too far away and not as interested in grand-parently shenanigans as my children would have enjoyed.

I had some pseudo grandparents too and they were dearly loved. Of the three real grandparents, two were pretty strict and crabby but my grandfather was lovely.
