A very strange rescue story of a parrot stuck in a tree

Kaiba who is a male macaw that is owned by Thea Everest who lives in Massachusetts is one of those rare parrots that due to his previous owner had shorn his wings, the parrot has a hard time flying.
Thea who traveled with her macaw to visit her dad in Brattleboro Vermont last Sunday to celebrate her birthday had the bad luck of nearly losing her parrot when a huge bird flew Kaiba as she was getting ready to enter her dad's home.
Kaiba was so scared that he fell 60 feet into the air and he landed on a tree. Since Thea could not reach her pet parrot, Thea was told by a friend on social media to contact Green Mountain Power to see if the lineman would be able to rescue the macaw who could have died from exposure to cold weather since it was 19 degrees F outside.
I am sure that when the lineman heard the request from Thea to rescue her macaw from a tree, the lineman thought it was a joke.
Green Mountain Power linemen Chris Gouger and Nick Bills answered the call from Thea to make an attempt to rescue the parrot from the tree.
The two linemen were successful in using the bucket truck to save the parrot from dying in the cold weather and return Kaiba to Thea who was grateful that the lineman rescued her macaw.
Thea is currently teaching Kaiba to fly like a bird although she admits that Kaiba is a slow learner.
The two Green Mountain Power lineman have mentioned that most of the time they are called to do animal rescues of animals trapped in trees, the poor animal is usually dead due to cold weather that causes the animal to fall down from a tree to the ground below where they wind up dead from the impact of the fall.

That is true since I did not know that macaws that have clipped wings cannot fly.

@Deepizzaguy They are tropical birds so he probably feels the cold.

Maybe the macaw found a way to fly up 60 feet up a tree out of fear.

I agree with you since the owner of the macaw would have heartbroken had the lineman not rescued her pet.

I had a neighbor years a go who had this beautiful Siamese cat. She had had the cat's front paws taken out. I thought that was so mean.

Glad Kaiba was rescued and i guess like I have always thought fear can make you do crazy things like this bird suddenly landing in a tree

I guess animals like humans when we get scared can do things that we cannot do in a normal setting like running fast.

The lineman admitted that if they were called to save macaws that are trapped in a tree, they would take the assignment in a heartbeat.
