A break...busy weekend.. some artwork.

Good morning from this side of the planet. It's 11 AM as I write this post. Just dropped in here to update the few happenings on my corner. And also to keep up with the promise of posting more often here. Another promise that I made to myself was to be more regular with my artwork. Well, I am doing good with that. I finished two projects and delivered the order in time. And the clients were happy. . Now I have started with this project that you can see here. This is the progress that I made on weekend. And I hope to finish it by end of the month. I can use it for my home as I keep changing my home decor from time to timeor sell it if some one is interested. For the time being it's my engagement. This kept me busy on the weekend along with few other chores. I kept my weekend deliberately away from gadgets. And the little time I spent mylotting was all for answering few notifications. I have no official class or meeting today though I have few things to finish..I have worked on few of them in the last two hours. Now I need a break for some mylotting and then cooking lunch. I will ignore notifications for a while and move to reading and responding. Notifications will be taken care of in the afternoon when I plan to come back here. Hope all is going well in your mylot corner Take care.

Yes. Mylot is addictive. And it is fun. Well, I have to cut short the time here so that other things in life go smoothly. Else I will be happily here the whole day.

I love doing art and craft. It's enjoyable to learn new ones as we have so many ways now to learn them from online sources. I have been selling them all these years at Christmas Bazaar for fund raining. Recently I got a few orders and that was encouraging.

The one that you see is aesthetic mandala. I do paper quilling, painting and other crafts like embroidery, paper crafts, zero waste crafts etc. Learning crochet at present from my younger daughter.

Thank you. It's an art about elephant face Lord Ganesha, a symbol of good luck, prosperity and wisdom in Hinduism. I have made a lot of progress with the artwork and it's coming out well.I would be sharing the finished product soon.

I am glad that you liked it. I have made a lot of progress on this one and I hope that I get it framed by this Sunday. I will share the picture. It must have been a good break to go out after so long. Though the fear of the virus is still not totally gone, it does feels refreshing to step out of house and go about the normal life with new norms

Wow Arunima...that is fantastic. Beautiful. Keep it up. Did you trace the picture or did you draw it yourself? The trunk towards the last part is kinda funny though - angular. Tusks could be larger...may be? Otherwise there will be a feeling of monotony. I always thought vinayaka has 3 lines followed by a dot on his forehead. You have two up there. I searched the net, I did see a greeting card like that. :) So all is good. The eye fantastic. The design at the bottom and up really marvelous. I can't wait to see the finished version. The ears and the decoration on it. Tusks give ample scope for decorating, right? Is it something that was ordered or do you do it, and then put for sale?

@arunima25 Oh don't you worry...I am really evil. Pony will tell you...how miserable he feels when I criticize his selection of slides. The overall effect is good. That is all that matters. :) Not many in this world as evil as I. LOL How much did you sell it for? Evil Grin. The background was superb.

@vandana7 I have still not sold it. This one is there in my house adoring this corner. The order that I am talking about was a big one and used multimedia along with intricate mandala. It was actually with a symbol of Ganpati, Shiva( trishul and dumroo), Vishnu( shankh), Krishna( flute and peacock feather) and a calm face of Buddha. It was huge ( almost a full wall). It took me 70 days to complete it giving 1-2 hours each day. It was an order for my known friend, who wanted it for her new centre. She has a physiotherapy and occupational therapy center. She happily paid me 70K and I think it was worth that Poor Pony! That's all I can say

It's all free hand drawing without any tracing or use of pencil. I love to do it straight from the pen. I find it therapeutic. This helps me heal.. You have a good observation there and your suggestions are well taken. Actually one of my friends had ordered a similar one for her new office space. She showed me few of arts on Pinterest and wanted me to make one combining the ideas of all. She wanted it to be unique and as a promise to her, I am not sharing the picture here. It was a multimedia using some old newspapers, clay, paint and fine intricate mandala designs. This one is simpler with just pen and paper. Since I got the basic inspiration from Pinterest, you might find similar ones online. This one is completed and I have posted a picture of it with my latest post.
