Hens Coming in to Roost

My sister invited me to her house for a family gathering tomorrow. It’s miles away but I had plans with my son and his family so going to my sisters was out of the question. My brother offered to pick me up on his way but I didn’t take him up on his offer.
Why do these invitations come up on the same days. Here I’ve seen very few people these last months and then invitations roll in for the same day. It’s kind of funny. I haven’t been keen on visiting anyone or inviting anyone over because of the covid. I suppose the hens are coming in to roost.

I feel like it is safe to begin gathering slowly with those that we know quite well like you do.
We have to be able to trust the others that they would stay home if they were not well.
I am really looking forward to the better weather so that we can safely visit with our extended family outside-its just been too long.

That is what always seems to happen in my case. I don't do anything for months, and all of sudden I get two things on the same day.

It always seems to happen that way. I will be left alone for hours then as soon as I go to eat or to the bathroom my phone will ring. or everyone decides to call me at one time

@RubyHawk me too. I have to look because sometimes a nurse or doctor will call from their own phone and I never know either if my youngest son might be using someone elses phone.

Everyone misses everyone. Now restrictions eased, everyone wants to see everyone more.

@porwest As far as I know we have plenty of large cemeteries and crematories were backed up. Don’t you remember when New York had air conditioned trailers packed with corpse because people were dying so fast and they had no place to store the bodies.

I'm sorry you couldn't go to your sister's. Everyone is relaxing and starting to gather together again.
