Remember a few days ago when I told you I wasn’t trying to mess with your minds? There were two different songs with the same title on this list of favorites with “money” in the title? And I promised you the one you were thinking about with that title would be along soon enough? I’m no politician, I keep my promises!
#5: Take the Money and Run - Steve Miller Band
The harmonies don’t match David Crosby and Graham Nash, but you can’t have everything in music.
Yep, it’s that “Take the Money and Run” that you were thinking about. Stevie Guitar Miller and his horrible rhyming schemes (El Paso/great big hassle; and Texas/facts is/justice/taxes).
And who cares (well, save for his grammar teacher in grade school
)? It’s a classic song from a classic album.
Take the Money and Run
Written by Steve Miller
Recorded by the Steve Miller Band
From Fly Like an Eagle, 1976
Sit around the house, get high, and watch the tube:

Don’t know if it was used in a movie. It sounds like a movie plot, though, doesn’t it?

Takes me back to being 16. Of course, Steve was part of my first-ever rock concert, too.

Oh, you’re welcome. This is so “innocent and fun 70s” music for me.

@FourWalls

Back in high school (and in college for that matter) I worked at The Gap. A coworker my age and I would do stock together in the back room and we would always listen to Steve Miller Band's greatest hits. I had never heard of them before that.

Oh, well, thanks for playing. At least it isn’t country.

I’m glad you enjoyed it. This was a major hit (the song and the album) in 1976.

It's Miller time! Great tune. Bonnie and Clyde would be proud of this couple (Billy Joe and Bobbie Sue) ...
