Remember me? I haven’t been here in ages. So sorry about missing my notifications. The fact is that I couldn’t see them. My left eye has been so blurry and light sensitive since my last cataract surgery two weeks ago. Saw the doc, but all is well. My cornea is still swollen and will heal.
We snuck away for several days with our younger son and his girlfriend to Big Bend, Texas. Her friend came along, too. All was awesome. Photo is mine of the Red River. What a fabulous trip! So blessed.
Busy otherwise. New patio in our backyard will begin next week. Our contractor will erect a raised bed garden immediately afterwards.
My next eye appointment was pushed back to March 29. We hope to leave for a month in Florida the next day.
Yay to Friday date night! I really need to relax!

I've been thinking about you and yes praying too that everything is all right. I'm glad it is. I'm sorry your eye is still swollen.
I"m glad you had a wonderful trip to Texas.
I hope your next eye surgery goes well. Have a wonderful trip and time in Florida. I know I don't need to tell you to have a great date night. It's good to see you back.

Thanks so much
I’m so relieved that my eye won’t be blurry for life! It’s getting better day by day.
Texas was awesome. We stayed in an adobe and hiked a lot.
Done with the surgeries on both eyes. The right eye sees 20/20. Hopefully, so will the left eye in a few weeks.

Glad you are back online--we need to put in raised beds--bending over is getting more difficult every year--

@DianneN A net is a great idea for deer as well--I don't know if you have deer--but they are often destructive in a garden--

@divalounger That's the main reason the sides of the garden will also have wire fencing. The deer are unbearable here!!!

@DianneN I was literally just thinking about you! I hadn't seen you lately and I hoped you were ok. It is good to hear from you. I'm sure your eyes will be fine. You mentioned how when you went to Texas, your son's girlfriend's friend came along. Was that the same friend that visited you in Florida that you wrote about not too long ago?

Your son must be very forgiving and soft hearted to allow his girlfriends rude friend to come along.

Hopefully you are healed soon. My second surgery on cataracts was harder to heal too.

@DianneN It will get better. Though you may need reading glasses after this but I'm sure you will still be very pretty in them.

Well, at least she's shepaying her own way this time.
Back in my 20s I used to go to midland with my roommate at the time, she claimed there were a lot of cute boys but I didn't like rednecks back then, and a whole lotta Midland was cowboys etc.

@LadyDuck No medical procedure is ever pleasant
To be honest, I'm so relieved the surgery is over. My right eye sees so well now, but that left one will take much longer to heal. Big sigh! It's best to have the surgery on your right eye. My doctor said the right eye heals much more quickly. I did have light sensitivity and flashes for a week, but it stopped by the time I had my left eye done.

I hope you feel better soon! Did the doctor say why your cornea is swollen and sore? (I have allergies that make my eyes swell up and "weep" all the time so I can't see. I just go to bed and let my laptop read to me until the swelling goes down.)

Thanks. The doctor told me it’s common for 75% of the people to have more swelling in the left eye, but it will get better. I had over 200 cuts from the laser, so……
I’m sorry your eyes swell up and tear from your allergies. I certainly can imagine how it feels.

I too had cataract surgery a couple of months ago and then upon further scanning of both eyes, they found a hole and membrane tear in the retina.
Need to follow up. So not active for a while.
Good that you are on the mend and in safe and caring hands.

I'm so glad you're here. I almost called you! That's a real bummer that your eye is still bothering you. I hope it gets better soon. That's a lovely photo. I hope you get to go back to Florida. Did you have a good date night? Have a good weekend.

@LindaOHio We lucked out, too. It's all gone and a beautiful week ahead.
My eye doctor said I could fly now and wear eye makeup, but I can wait.

Thanks, Linda. I agree it's a bummer, but I trust my opthamologist that the blurry stuff will go away.
Texas was awesome, especially at night seeing the Milky Way. As soon as our patio and raised bed garden are completed and my eye doctor appointment checks out,, we are out of here.
Yes, date night was wonderful as usual. The weather today sucks big time!

So when you went to Texas I'm guessing your eye was doing a lot better by then? Lovely view there.

@DianneN - It has been a long time since I was in that region of Texas, but it is gorgeous, isn't it? I'm sorry to hear about your eye. I hope it turns out OK. I had cataract surgery about a decade or more ago, but I think I healed pretty quickly. I hope your eyes heal quickly, too. I know how frustrating it must be.

@DianneN - I am sure it is frustrating and disorienting to have the swollen cornea. I'm glad your right eye handled the surgery perfectly. I'm sure the other one will heal soon. Sending good wishes for complete healing your way!
