Happy Crossing the Border

I didn’t have an April Fools Day but a happy day crossing the border to the Netherlands. Just 38km from where we live. The other side of the street is Germany while the other side is The Netherlands.
We went to Dinxperlo open air market where fresh fruits, vegetables, Dutch cheeses, fish and most of all flowers were sold. They were all cheaper than in Germany.
I have bought :
2 avocados for only 1 €uro
Eggplants 2 € for a kilo
3 huge mangoes for 5€
6 Dutch huge cookies called Rombutter for 5€
4 bouquets of flowers for 7€ plus 1 pot of anthurium plant for free
I was very happy when the flower vendor gave me anthurium plant for free. I couldn’t believe it. As we had plenty of flower bouquets, we visited the grave of my parents-in-law which was not far from where we were. It was a spontaneous visit so I didn’t have a candle with me.
It was snowing and freezing cold in Dinxperlo and the funny thing was that, I recognised who were the Germans and the Dutch because only the Germans were wearing face masks. I didn’t wear my face mask as there were not many people there at that time in the afternoon. I just kept my distance.
Anyway, I am going to search how to take care of anthurium now. I want to grow it well.

If I lived in Europe would be deported everyday. Look I am in Germany, no Netherlands, Switzerland, dammit I messed up now in Russia. I think living in Europe sounds fun. I could get into a lot of trouble.

Why would you be deported every day if you live in Europe @crossbones27? Yes, it is fun as we can just go to other neighbouring countries without a visa. Thank you.

Thanks for the update. Had no idea that the Netherlands were so close by. We have s**w on the ground this morning which is a disappointment. Your bouquet is gorgeous.

That was nice. So you don't need plane ticket or visa to go to the other country.

No, I don’t need plane ticket if it is not so far in driving in Europe.

You are lucky because both countries are part of the EU, so you do not have to "declare the goods" at the Customs. It is a long time that I do not go shopping in Italy. Aldi has very good prices, with the cost of the gasoline we prefer to buy locally.
