Do you think that the Himalayan salt will make the food taste better?

I think the Himalayan salt has a very lovely look and this is why it attracts me mainly. But I don't really think it can make the food taste better. Perhaps it is not as salty as the table salt. This is why sometimes I like to add it after the food is done.

Never tried it yet since Himalayan salt is just too expensive here. I know that they say that Himalayan Salt is healthier than the common table salt. But the price is just to high for me to buy one and add in my grocery.

@youless I see that is usually their selling point to their consumer they are healthier than the regular table salt.

I don't really think Himalayan salt is healthier. As other elements are so tiny to give you extra benefits. It is better to take the pills

It is pretty, isn't it? We use it, but to me it has a lighter salt taste. Table salt is salty. And sea salt seems to have the right amount of saltiness for most cooking uses.

I think so, too. Basically I bought Himalayan salt because it looks pretty rather than it is healthier.

@youless Apparently there is such a thing as Persian Blue Salt. Although I have no idea where one could get it, I would like to try that too. It supposedly also has health benefits!

My husband think that it makes the grilled meat taste better, he only use Himalayan salt on the grilled meat. Ma favorite salt is the grey sea salt from Bretagne (France)

@youless The Himalayan salt tastes great on the steaks. It is not true that all salts taste the same. Sea salt and table salt are very different.

I don't like my food to be very salty and so I am okay with Himalayan salt too. In fact I prefer this one over table salt. Both are used equally in my kitchen.

@youless Yes, here people consume it a lot. Though table salt is still more used than Himalayan salt.

It tastes like regular salt to me. Like OceanTiara said down below their is a difference between table salt and sea salt other than that, salt is the same to me although some is iodized.

The sellers have to say Himalayan salt is healthier so that it can charge more

I think it is all a big con. They say the salt is so many years old but all salt is old.

I don't know about Himalayan salt, but for summer salads I prefer salt in granules. Salt taste same, but I like the texture more.

Salt is salt is salt. Chemically, it's all NaCl or sodium chloride, although sea salt may have some trace elements.
