For the last 2 years, my kids have not seen the school because of the covid. 
On the 4th of April, they were ready to go to school, and they were so happy that their happiness could be seen on their faces.
They were excited to see their friends whom they didn't see for a long time.
I was calmly watching them as they got ready before the time their cab reaches home to pick them up.
It was such an excitement for them that they hurriedly went to the cab saying "goodbye" to us.
I was happy to see their excitement. Sometimes such things are the reasons for our happiness in our life.

@sjvg1976 I'd say their happiness was a mixture of getting out of the house and seeing their friends again after so long, then.
If you were home, why didn't you drive them to school? Is the cab cheaper than driving them?

I think it's harder for schoolchildren because they're not allowed to go out at all.
Are they (your son and daughter) in the same classes all day? If yes, does it ever cause discomfort, comparisons, etc.?

What lovely kids. Nice photo. Yes as they always say, little things mean a lot.

Are they going to school? I think they are happy and you too seeing them happy.
