Why are we always so last minute?

Last weekend we were all going for a day out, which involved catching a train. It wasn’t too early in the morning, so it seemed that we wouldn’t need to be in so much of a hurry and could enjoy a relatively relaxed Saturday morning as usual.
But in the end some last-minute changes of plan and trying to get things done before going (because it seemed we had plenty of time) meant we ended up in a rush to leave after all.
‘Why do we always have to be in such a rush whenever we go anywhere?’ I complained as we were all bundled out of the house hoping we had time to buy our train tickets.
But as it turned out we had enough time to get to the station, buy our tickets from the friendly lady at the office, cross the bridge to the platform - and we still had a couple of minutes to spare.
And guess what? We were all bored and fed-up with waiting in no time.
I guess this is why we tend not to arrive early anywhere!

I too like to plan things in a way that we don't have any last minute rush. And also I hate to wait too long for something. So just want to reach on time. Glad that you could be there in time despite all last minute rush

We don't mind waiting... I always have my phone with me and Pretty always carries a tablet with her. We both read while waiting for anything to happen so arrive early to appointments or to whatever we're doing.

@Fleura I get ready to leave and read in the living room while waiting for time to leave, so we get where ever we're going early. When it's time, I tell Pretty we need to leave. Once in a great while she tells me she has to finish something online first. I go out, get in the car and start it. I've never had to pull out of the drive without her. (I did leave her mom a few times before she learned I was leaving when I said I was leaving. *shrug* I didn't like listening to her mom gripe about it, but I'm not going to be late for anyone.)

Things happen at "the last minute" because, after they happen, it's "the next minute
That's a lovely view... where is it?

Funny isn't it? We've been so badly spoiled in our century. Imagine having to wait 30 minutes for a train, good grief most of us would go berzerk.

It's the old story of hurry up and wait
