Which do you prefer?

Everyone has to shop some time or another whether you want to or not. So, do you prefer the big chains? Or do you prefer the small, unique shops? When my friend and I went on vacation in Branson, Missouri, I knew a couple places good for shopping. The Landing was a place with say, 20 chain stores, including restaurants, in one spot. The other was the old downtown Branson, with shops as old or older than 50 years. One place I took her dowtown, and she loved, was this Victorian shop. For a small shop it was packed with items, including this lace hankie in the picture that my friend bought. It sold the lace hankies, jewelry from the Victorian age, even clothes as elaborate from that time period. My friend said it was her favorite store we went to. We also went to the Branson Craft Mall, and I love all the handmade items they had. I just prefer the unique. Which kind do you like better?

For the everyday stuff, I'd rather go to the big chains . . . just because I know what to expect in prices and can find what I need right away. But for fun shopping, I love the small, unique shops . I like looking at "things" you wouldn't find in a typical store . . . in that sense mall shops can be boring.

For general merchandise, I prefer a place like Walmart which has cheaper prices.

I think I prefer to go to the big chains. Since I can buy various kinds of products there and sometimes there will be a promotion, too.

You get good deals at the big chains, but the unique comes with something special that they cannot match.

I've always preferred the smaller stores, they cater to their customers much better and their items are unique.

I do both, but I must admit that the small unique stores do not have much to offer for everyday life.

For the everyday grocery shopping I am fine with chains, for the rest I prefer small stores. I never go to Chain Restaurants, always and only small restaurants, better if the owner is there to help to serve or to help in the kitchen.

For me it really just depends on what I am after. I do like supporting small, local businesses. But it is not always practical. So, it just depends.

Small unique shops for me any day of the week. I buy necessary items online but I love strolling the unique items.

I usually shop at chain stores, and I like those. Some (most) of the smaller known places aren't exactly accessible. Some are, but far and few in-between.

That is so pretty! I love unusual things. I bought a jacket years ago that reminded me of Dolly Partin's coat of many colors. It was one of those things that was either really ugly or really pretty, lol.

Prices matter, si much, si I go to Walmart, cvs & supermarket mostly. I love window-shopping, so to feast my feast my eyes, I go to small shops too, hoping to find bargains.
