Dilated Eyes Are A Trip

Had my annual eye appointment today. And they dilated my eyes, of course. They checked for glaucoma and everything was well. My vision has not changed in the past year. Those drops they give you for dilation are crazy. I felt like the monkey in this photo. Getting back to normal now. A great eye exam, all is well. Back home on this cool and cloudy day. Hope you are all doing good on this Monday afternoon.

Lol that photo is of the Philippine Tarsier, the smallest monkey in the world. And the biggest eyes maybe?

They put eye drops in your eyes and make your pupils extremely big and dilated.

Glad you had good news. I had an appointment with my eye doctor today. My eyes were dilated, scanned and everything else they could think of. They gave me dark glasses but I could barely see the rest of the day.

I have never had my eyes dilated, but my wife has, and she says it is a weird thing. The last time I went for an eye exam before I got my new glasses they did numb my eyes for one of the tests and that just felt weird.

@CarolDM I guess that's a plus considering. Still, I think it would show me a lot of nothing in the meantime. lol

It only lasts a few minutes and it shows the doctor a lot of information.

I hesitate to go for eye check ups because I hate it when they dilate my eyes.

Good that all is well without eyes. I have issues like holes in the retina and membrane apart from two cataract surgeries. Need to follow up often.

Nice to hear that your eyes are fine. I have not tested my eyes for a long time but I don't have any trouble with my eyes. Only sometimes my right eyes looks smaller in the morning.

My appointment is coming up in a couple of months. It's the "long" appointment which means a Field of Vision test which I hate and pupil dilation. Oh, yeah, and the "is this better or is this one better?" They always look the same to me.

Good, you're ok! Passed my rental subsidy inspection, today. Celebrated with malasadas, chili and rice from Zippys fast food restaurants and went to Taco Bell for cheesy rice and beans burrito and cinnamon twists. So filled.

I usually do not have a driver with me so I do not get my eyes dilated. They still find lots of strange things to do to my eyes. My doc classifies me as "pre glaucoma" because of the pressures in my eyes, but I have had the same numbers for almost thirty years. It is good to keep on top of things.

I remember years ago, they dilated my mom's eyes, and they just wouldn't go back to normal. It took three days! She was not happy with that.

Holy cow, my doc doesn't dilate eyes anymore, she has some kinda fancy equipment that takes pics of my eyeball and measures pressure with out the need to do that, I was so happy about that.

The dilation is not for the glaucoma, they also have a gizmo for that here. The dilation is to see your optic nerve and surrounding nerves.

The VA uses a different process: they numb the eyes and put a device right on the eyeball to look in and check the pressure. (Everyone in my family has/had glaucoma, so that’s my worry.) My brother said he even took his sunglasses to the doctor for the dilation, to no avail!

I hate that puff puff machine thing, it freaks me out so badly. it isn't even the air towards my eyes that makes me flinch, it is always the noise. They have to do it at least 3 times for me because I jump so badly at the noise. Last time I did it though there was a loud construction happening so I was distracted by that and didn't hear the puff noise so I didn't jump, it was very nice haha

No puff machine any more with my doctor. Just a bright light. But the drops dilated my eyes. Good to see you.
