My bag of goodies for or from Easter

We celebrated Easter this year for the first time since COVID with my siblings in Michigan, supposed, kids and grands, whomever wanted to come. It area has no cars of COVID at present. Some of my family wore masks but most did not. By Monday I questioned whether I should have written one myself. I have bad allergies and we sold a boat load, (not literally) of lilies and other spring flowers so I was sniffly on Easter. But on Monday I didn't feel well at all. Later in the day I realized it was sinus related because I had a sinus headache and my sinuses were painful. I checked the web and the only way I would have been contagious was if a cold precipitated the sinus infection and that didn't happen. But because I want feeling up to par I chose to leave my bag of candy alone for the time being. This is the first year the adults and adult children got a bag of candy too. The younger children children had an Easter egg hunt after our meal and each child got thirty plastic eggs filled with goodies. My sister in law that put the goodies together also supplied most of our meal with my sister and I bringing two dishes. My sister made her fruit salad and I took horsey deviled eggs. We had available to eat: sweet potatoes and regular potatoes both baked, ham, turkey, chicken, dressing, gravy, rolls and extra fruit. I've cream was the dessert Now that I'm allowing myself things from my goodie bag I have to watch and not eat it too quickly.

@LadyDuck my allergies just cause my nose to run a lot, like all the time. When I was in my thirties I got step throat a few times with the sinus pressure but thankfully I don't get strep throat any more that I know of.

I don't know whether the allergies cause sinus problems or maybe the other way around. I should ask my Dr I suppose.

@celticeagle we have those here too but not near me. I don't know what I'm specifically allergic too. Some phlox used to bother me. I think I'm allergic to things inside and outside.

I usually just have the sinus headaches without havering the cold attached. At least I had some over the counter meds to take which has dried it out fairly quickly. It's only been five days and it's almost gone.

If you space out the goodies, they will last for quite a while.

Yes. Good luck to me on that one. Right now it's easy as I'm not over the sinus cold yet and I try to start away from sweets when sick. It's after I'm well I may not be as good with it.

We did easter baskets for the kids, although he child is starting to get too old for it. I told him next year he's getting cleaning supplies and socks.

It was very good and she made a lot of everything except the stuffing. I was bummed when I went up for second and it was all gone. I forgot she also made stir fried veggies.

Sounds like you had a nice Easter with family, good food and a bag of goodies. Glad you were able to have a get-together. Covid really did put a damper on family gatherings for the past 2 years

Sounds like a good time was had by all. Our dinner went well also and the little ones had such fun hunting eggs.
