End of April week

April, is almost done. I've no big plans for this week. Just the usual, shopping, weather permitting. Bus rideing is ok, accustomed to it. But when I got transportation, and get to ride in a car, I realize, how nice it feels riding a car I'm glad, my healthcare plan has transportation benefits! One thing though, no hospital to home transportation at all for covid positive patients! There's a survey I got done, Access To Care Hawaii, and I mentioned about it to get us much needed transportation for covid positive, hospital to home, transportation. Is there a service if this where you live?

I have no idea about patients with covid getting rides but my health insurance does provide rides to the doctor, hospitals or pharmacies if needed. I'm glad I don't have covid.

I didn't even think about to and from rides . . . I take it for granted as we drive in our own cars everywhere. Actually we could walk as we live that close to a hospital.

@much2say First you need to get time schedule & route information, locally we can do get this at one transit station near where I live, so you can see if time & routes coincidence with you. There are rules, that route schedule maps lists, locally anyway. The schedule has cost, list & found ph number, customer service phone too, be prepared for anything. Once according to schedule, bus hasn't come for 2 pickup, si U went to another bus stop to ask the driver, they got phone in bus...he said he'll call...it was Sat so no customer service...bus came in 5 min. Always carry phone. Locally we have a real time arrivals working with bus stop number. It's a terrific service. Check your area for it. Always carry rain proof umbrella or jacket even if it's a super sunny day for you don't want to be caught without it. Umbrella shields from Sun. By the way, accidents happen... I was stuck in bus for over an hour, until it cleared. In our bus, they've poster for bus changes. Check news for weather & bus alerts. If snows where you live, be sure to check bus service directly for anything. Just a few things you need to be aware of, riding the bus.

@oahuwriter Here in Switzerland (as well all the European countries) we have NATIONAL Healthcare coverage, all citizens are covered transportation is included. We have also a group of volunteers we can call in case we need to buy grocery, to avoid to use public transport. This is also free.

That is a valid point, and a necessity as I am sure that there are many in the same boat as you. Since we each have a vehicle, and can drive each other if the need be, I had not considered this issue. I do not know much about what our healthcare system allows for that sort of thing.

I think that service would be beneficial for those needing a ride from the hospital to home. I guess Covid positive people would need extra precautions though so it doesn't spread. Maybe with Covid still around they'll institute this ride availability. Who really thought this virus would still be here after 2 years.

We have Laketran. You can get a door-to-door bus ride; but you have to give them quite a bit of notice. Part of our sales tax goes to pay for this service.
