Did you know that Octopuses build little gardens under the sea? Yes, it's true. Octopuses travel along the seabed picking up stones and shiny objects with which to build gardens. Pretty cool! Ringo Starr was inspired by this so much he wrote the song Octopus's Garden, recorded for the Beatles Abbey Road LP. He also sang lead vocals on the track. Alright, it's that time again. Let's see what songs I put in our garden today, as we figure out the answers to this musical trivia challenge. Hope this tune brightens your day! Correct answers rewarded, but comments are also welcomed. Whodunnit- Name that tune: 1. The Beatles recorded another tune with an "ocean theme." Written by Paul McCartney, this one was not about an animal but a "ship of sorts." Ringo sang lead on this one too. -Can you name the title of this Beatles song which also includes a "color" in the title? 2. This lovely flower song from the movie and soundtrack "Sound of Music" was sung by Christopher Plummer in the film. "Plummer, as Captain Von Trapp," uses it to describe the way he feels about his love for Austria that is slowly dying away due to the Nazis and the Third Reich. This flower which begins with the letter "E" is related to the daisy family. The song was so convincing viewers actually thought this flower song was a traditional tune of Austria, rather than the creation of two American songwriters. It had me fooled! -Do you know the name of this film's flower song? 3. This "power ballad by 80s hair band Poison" proved that love affairs can be as beautiful as a flower but can also wind up becoming a "thorn in your side." In the US, this tune was #1 for the last two weeks in 1988 and also for the first week of 1989. With really high hair, lots of makeup and feminine accessories, the band exemplified the "hair metal" look of that era. BTW: I'm not a fan of the band but do like this tune... -Do you know the name of this flower titled song? Ok, let's show off your "green thumb" when figuring out these songs on this very difficult quiz. If you're stuck and need additional hints just let me know in your response. Or as the band Jefferson Starship would say, you can "Count On Me." Thanks for reading and responding to my music post!!! I will return with a new edition soon. Hope you can wait till then, lol. Stay tuned... Source- Wikipedia & songfacts.com

@LindaOHio much better! Fun fact: Ringo usually sang lead on many of the lighter Beatle's songs. Other tunes with Ringo singing lead: "Boys," "Honey Don't," "Act Naturally," and "With A Little Help From My Friends."

@CarolDM Here's a fun fact to enjoy! Hope it brightens your day Fun fact: Christopher Plummer really did not sing this song. Although he tried, his voice did not possess the proper quality for such a film. His part was overdubbed by a singer named Billy Lee.
