Fried rice with shrimps

It’s been a while since I was last here on Mylot. I hope you are all fine and in good health. Nothing much going on here except that life is getting busy that I just relax in my free time. Tomorrow is Mother’s Day again here in Germany. I wonder if it is also Mother’s Day celebration in your country on Sunday, the 8th of May. I am invited to a Mother’s Day picnic at the lake tomorrow afternoon. I still don’t know if I will join the picnic with my friends and their families. Anyway, the photo above is the dinner I cooked a few hours ago from our leftover rice. It was fried rice with shrimps and spam meat. It was delicious as always. Do you like fried rice? Tomorrow is Mother's Day here in Canada also. We are going to visit our son, his wife and the twins.

@thelme55 I'm sorry that you will not be able to go to the picnic. I bought a nice big wicker serving tray today and some pretty napkins and will put a fresh loaf of bread and some cold cuts, cheese and sweets on it to give to our daughter-in-law and son so that they can take it out after we leave and have a little picnic together. They are so busy tending to the twins, that it is nice to be able to put something together such as that.

Today is Mother's Day in most countries in the world, with some exception. I made fried rice with shrimps the past Tuesday, no meats only shrimps. If I make a Chinese fried rice I add diced ham to the shrimps, peas, onion and shredded omelette.

@thelme55 Except very few specific dishes (like paella, or fried Cantonese rice) I prefer not to mix fish and meats.

What a lovely dish. I only eat fried rice in Chinese/Japanese restaurants but I really like it.

You've probably already heard that we had mother's day in the same date in the USA. I've seen some recipes that looked similar to yours but they didn't include spam. My husband likes spam from time to time but I won't try it.

I celebrated Mother’s Day the 8th, too here in the USA. My older son is in Germany with his family, but they sent me 36 roses. I enjoy fried rice, but don’t make it. Hope you had a lovely day.

That dish looks delicious. I rarely eat rice but if I could make rice (I've never learned how) I would make it with chicken and veggies.

Yes, I went to the picnic with my son. It was wonderful. I add bacon or chicken leftover meat and sometimes ground pork to my fried rice. It just depends what I have at home. Thank you @RasmaSandra. Have a nice week.
