Trying to develop some discipline

I am trying to force myself to go out and mow daily. Have not done so tonight. The area I mowed last weekend needs it again already, and there is a lot I did not mow. So if you need me, I will be outside for a while. Hubby went and got Subway Sandwiches for us tonight. One he said was called The Monster, with double beef and bacon, and cheese plus all the veggies you could ever want. Made for very few dishes. I have washed two loads of laundry this evening. Now I have to find shoes and go mow some more. See ya soon.

Hubby cut the grass for the first time this season. Now it’ll be at least once a week (sometimes more often) until late autumn, Unless we have a long dry spell, but that rarely happens in the Maritimes.

Our rider is in the shop. Hubby does not have the strength, energy or motivation to push a mower. I actually like it once I am out there. I have rather a large property and I need to just mow a bit every day and perhaps I will keep up. This will go on untill Fall.

@GardenGerty we use a rider. The hill would make it challenging. Hubby also cuts the neighbours yard, so about 1/2 an acre each time.

When I was married I used to mow our backyard with a manual mower. One of those old things. Helped me keep some pounds off this ole body.

I have one of those, but it is too hard and the grass is too deep. I will just be going out daily to mow with my walk behind. If/when the rider is repaired hubby will use it some and that will help.

@GardenGerty ........Yeah. I tried to keep up on it so it didn't get too hard. A rider? Nice.

Pretty mowed our yard in three sessions. (Our lawnmower is battery powered and the battery lasts 30 minutes at a time and takes 4 hours to recharge.) It's time to start mowing again now.

I have wanted battery powered for a long time, but I am not sure it would be practical where I am.

@GardenGerty Had we known it would take three charges to do the whole yard, we probably wouldn't have gotten an electric mower. (I was angry at the time because our gas mower had cost me $100 two years in a row before we could mow with it. I didn't want to pay another $100 before we could start mowing for the third year so decided to buy the battery powered mower.)

If you can do a bit at a time, the job never gets so intimidating. I found that with ironing when Vince had business shirts to iron and I was working but I do very little ironing now.

I love subway sandwiches. Unfortunately, the one in my city closed down even before the pandemic due to. mismanagement. I know the owner who franchised Subway and it was his son who managed it and brought the business down.

That is pretty sad. Our closest one is owned by the grocery store next door to it. They seem to be more generous with the meat than all the others.

It is warm, but I like the outdoors. I like to see what is growing, both domesticated and wild.
