Choosing Your Avatar

When you are choosing an avatar or image for your profile on a site do you have a specific image in mind that you would want to use, or your choice is just random? . The picture posted was my avatar on Bubblews .My fascination with legendary figures from the ancient past prompted me to choose that image. Can you guess who it is ? Do you change your avator often? How many have you used so far? Do you plan to show your real face anytime soon?.

Nefertiti Queen of Egypt, I have always been fascinated by Egypt. I created my avatar using one of my photos and I used it for all the sites I joined.

@Kandae11 I remember you explained that your actual avatar is a sketch of yourself, I like it.

Hmmm , are you correct? We shall see.As you probably know from my profile, my current avatar is a sketch of my self l had done sometime ago. Perhaps l should update it with another sketch.

LadyDuck beat me to it, but I thought this was Queen Nefertiti as well. I am boring and hardly ever change my avatar . I have used this sunset avatar here ever since I started. On B, I used this swirled image that I created - not particularly memorable - but that's what it was. I don't think I'd show my face here as an avatar . . . but hmmm, perhaps one day I'll at least change it .

@Kandae11 Oh gosh, those B days are such a blur now. All I remember is being on pins and needles . . . but I don't have any of that stress here - not one bit. I often think about changing avatars, but obviously I never get around to actually doing it .

I am on my third so far and l have no immediate plans to change . During Bubblews last days l think l had changed that avator to a real photo of me, l am not sure, the crash happened so soon after.

I seldom change my avatar as I am afraid people will not recognize me. In the past I used my son's photo as my avatar, but then I found people often made a mistake. After that, I used one of my painting as the avatar and this is what you can see it now

LadyDuck has already guessed. I have used my current avatar at many sites for many years. It's a photo of an old dog I had that liked to smile. Boo Boo was his name and he was a rescue that lived with me for ten years. The vet guessed that he was three or four when we first got him. He had been abused and was timid for about a year but then became the life of the party and was my shadow wherever I went. He turned into a clown of a dog. My avatar has changed a few times but it always ends up going back to this one.

You had a good many years with him . It is hard to imagine people being that callous to abuse dogs and cats.

@Kandae11 Up until his last days, we couldn't even turn on a vacuum cleaner without him melting down. He didn't run away from it, he attacked it and whoever happened to be pushing it. Rakes, shovels, brooms and even a walking cane or crutches triggered him. They were chewed up if we left them out. He was a gentleman in every other way, but the abuse he took must have been awful enough for him to carry it with him to the end.

I've always used the avatar I have now. I see no reason to change it. It is as "real" as a picture of me from the past can be "real".

@Kandae11 Pretty made it from a real photo of me. Of course, that's how I looked at 25 years old. I'm 58 now.

@DaddyEvil We can't be 25 forever. Every day we are a day older, so many people die young and miss out on so much. We should be thankful for each day of life , for the great wealth of knowledge and experience the mature person can boast. Make the most of today, tomorrow is promised to no one.

As for me I've used the same avatar since being on Bubblews. People associated it with me so I kept it. Maybe one day I'll change it to my picture. I cheated and read the other posts and I would have to agree that your avatar is Nefertiti

@Kandae11 Have a look at this for the 3D reconstruction of her face
Nefertiti is today remembered as an Egyptian queen renowned for her beauty. She ruled alongside her husband, Pharaoh Akhenaten, during the mid-1300s B.C. In a historic forensic reconstruction project, Travel Channel is revealing the face of King Tut's moth

@LadyDuck l know these Archaeological people are very talented and do great work with their findings. However, that 3D reconstruction,? no, no no. Queen Nefertiti was renowned for her beauty, that reconstruction is very off - l can see why it sparked controversy. They say the mummy was badly damaged, understandably seeing it was thousands of years old - getting a near accurate picture of her true face would be a bit of a stretch.

Oh well, perhaps l should finally acknowledge that it is like @LadyDuck - the first to come up with the right answer - said. It is indeed Queen Nefertiti of the 18th Dynasty of Ancient Egypt.

That's Nefertiti. I choose the selfie I like the most among those available. I might have some pictures on the phone and other pictures on the computer, so it varies. If I don't use my face, then it's usually an animal, such as a bird.

Show my real face all the time here and other places. I don't change it often maybe because I don't take selfies or it's a rare thing and I don't have anyone else take a pic of me either. Sometimes when I get a new hairdo I'll post it and write about it but I don't know how often it became my avatar.
