Bug Bites

Beginning every year with bug season for the past couple of years I have posted a picture of the different kinds of bites.
It helps to know the difference from one bite to another so that you can be aware if you develop symptoms of the West Nile Virus, for example, which can be caught from mosquitoes or Lyme Disease from ticks. If you develop symptoms and see a doctor, be sure to tell them that you received an insect bite and what type of insect.
Be sure to use insect spray if you are going to be in an insect-prone area.

My neighbor Jan learned this lesson the hard way. She ended up suffering with Lymes Disease.

@kobesbuddy That's such a shame. Lyme Disease is horrible.

Mosquito bites are such a pain. They itch and itch and can cause diseases.

Pretty and I have always been prone to mosquito bites every year. Or, at least I was until I started taking the medication for hyperthyroidism. Now mosquitoes leave me alone.

@LindaOHio
You can try taking B Complex vitamins and see if that helps you. I used to take two tablets in the morning and the mosquitoes would leave me alone for four hours. Two more tablets at noon and I was good until around 4:30 pm.

Ticks can carry bad stuff too! Plus they are hard to get off.
