I just ordered a mattress topper

I was considering getting a new mattress and bedframe as mine are pretty much shot and I am ready for a change, but getting the old stuff out of here would be problematic, and also buying a new mattress and bedframe would be expensive. They do have some great mattress toppers out there though and this one looks great and has good reviews. I think it is 3 inch therma gel or something. Besides, it is supposed to be cooling, and I will really need that for the summer. I just ordered it a few minutes ago and it is supposed to be delivered tomorrow. It would be awesome to sleep on that tomorrow night.

You can donate the old one at the charity. I do hope that they'll be needing that.

I don't know that they want it. Besides someone would have to move it. Not an easy task

@snowy22315 You can just give them a call and ask if they'll be needing it. However, if they don't try to look for another charitable institutions.

As for now, I am keeping my mattress, but thanks, the topper goes on top of it.

@snowy22315 my mattress was about 15 years old and my shoulders and hips would get quite sore during the night

It isn't painful, as I have some coverings I sleep on, but if I move around too much and dislodge them or something it isn't very comfortable.

That sounds wonderful and hope it gives you a great nights sleep. I can understand the whole new bed scenario as I' in the same boat. I need a new bed/mattress but am trying to hold off for awhile longer.

Yes, I will probably get a new lightweight comforter too. Then it will be like I have a brand new bed!

I thought about trying one of those newer type of mattress pads to liven up my old one. But it was just so soft, and I did purchase a nice thick one a few years ago, it just didn't help that much. I didn't know how I was possibly going to unload my old one. I do know someone who hauls items no one wants anymore, but he has a waiting list, plus the cost was a lot. I was going to slap it on a FB yard sale site for free, but...I didn't know for sure if I wanted to do that, as whoever took it would have had to come in to my home to get it and haul it away. So, I contacted a friend not far away and asked her if she knew of anyone who wanted a clean (I always kept a zipped on covering on it as well as a pad and of course a sheet!) mattress. She came and picked it up with her husband, as she knew a single mom who had to start completely over, so it's gone. Yay! But I know it's often very hard to find someone to come and get these items.

I think I willl wait if and until I move and have movers do something with it. My sister and nephew were going to come and help move it, but I am not sure sis should be doing that she has problems with her back at times and just had to help her son with one recently.

We have that back problem here, too. Plus a queen sized mattress is not easy to move around for me, so believe me, I get it. I just got lucky asking and someone wanted it.

I was going to get mine from Amazon..Getting a mattress delivered out here by a store would cost a pretty penny. They would probably even charge extra. This is a rural area.

I'm sure our topper helps us get a good sleep. Yours sounds awesome. Ours is pretty much a regular one.
