International Missing Children's Day is commemorated on May 25 to remember missing children and to spread the word about child abduction.
There is a rough estimate that about 8 million children around the world go missing each year. Watch out for the kids.
I must take this opportunity to offer my heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of those innocent children whose young lives were snuffed out in yesterday's massacre In Texas.

8 million missing children is a lot higher than I thought. Wow that's so sad and if that's a yearly statistic it's even more mind boggling.
It is indeed heartbreaking about the massacre in Texas. Today they are showing the pictures of all the children killed as well as the two teachers. It just makes you cry

I know, l always shed a few tears when l see the faces of those who die under tragic circumstances. At the time those pictures were taken they had no idea they would become victims of something so terrible.
Of those that go missing a high percentage usually return home - but those who are trafficked, stolen or murdered never see their homes again.

I was aware of Missing Children’s Day thanks to the news and online reading. How horrible for the kids and their parents to have that happen.
I’ve been following the horrific happenings in Texas and crying over this every day. So terrible!

Yes, the Texas killing was a tragic event committed by a very mentally disturbed individual. We definitely should hold our children close. There seems to me to be an increase in sick unstable adult abductors out there. Social media sites have it much easier to prey on children/teens.

Since the news broke yesterday my thoughts were there with the families in Texas but mylot was already flooded with posts on that most horrific happening. I have been following these shootings for sometime now - that is the reason l wrote that post - full body armor for protection. By the way, l was not thinking of now , more like the year 2030 or 2040.

Millions of children are stolen and killed every year for some rogues vested interest. Let God not bring children to this World to suffer like this.
