The other day in the Walmart parking lot

A couple of days ago, my husband and I were going to a store in the Walmart mini mall in our town. I immediately saw right outside the Walmart doors in the parking lot a police car, ambulance and firetruck all with their lights flashing. I wondered what happened. Later on my town's Facebook page, someone had seen it and asked what happened. A woman had had a Stroke. Very sad. I hope she survived. Here is a question. Why would a firetruck also be there with an ambulance and police car for a Stroke victim?

She probably saw the prices and they caused the stroke. I am being facetious of course.

That is quite sad. Although it may differ from our country to yours, but when 911 is called all 3-ambulance, police and fire can respond and do.

In our area, a fire company rolls with the Ambulance in case more hands are needed to move the patient.

Poor woman. Get well soon. As for the ambulance, and the firefighters and police who were on the scene, someone might call the emergency line.

That's a big question that I don't know if I have the correct answer. However, I have a guess here. Firetruck appearance with a stroke victim is there because sometimes, if the stroke victim is inside the car and the car will blow up in fire when not attended immediately by the ambulance. The police car will do the report. I hope I got the correct guess. Lol.

@LeaPea2417 That's only a guess and I have no clue if I've got it right.

I am going to guess they have even more equipment or the person on the fire truck had more advanced cardiac training than the one in the ambulance. I would wonder about the police car, although they would likely be controlling the crowd and possibly escorting the ambulance.

I presume it's because they want to be ready in case any sudden need requires them. Only the ambulance or medic usually responds to health issues in our area. and firetrucks for fire. However, for fires, ambulances should be ready as well for any injured persons.

That is alarming to see a firetruck, ambulance and police car. Hope it is not a major stroke

They are trained in emergency first aid so if they are closer they will go.

Since I have firefighters in my family I know that fire responds to all 9-1-1 calls. My son in law always said if there's an emergency call the fire dept. even if it's not fire related.

It seems a bit strange that the fire truck was in attendance. Maybe, at the beginning, they weren't sure what the emergency was.

They all respond here to emergencies, just in case. For back up I am told.

It seems here they are all dispatched at the same time no matter what goes on.

Alot of communities have that enhanced 911 system where if one emergency vehicle is called they all show up. It seems kind of wasteful, but that is what they do.

I agree with Julia, in our smaller town all two respond. Just the fire truck and an ambulance. Overall I don't think police men respond. Maybe it's too be sure that at least one of the vehicles make it there.
