All that’s left is the ceiling cracks and the latest expense on the house will be finished. I’ll drink to that! Of course, I don’t drink (I don’t like the taste, there’s a history of alcoholism in my family, and did I mention I don’t like the taste?), so my drink of choice is iced tea (which will really be guzzled next week with the high 90s [35-37 Celsius] forecast). That doesn’t mean I can’t celebrate songs that have alcohol mentioned in the title. Steve Goodman referred to this as a song about “an accident I had with a bottle of tequila,” admitting it was “semi-autobiographical.” Ouch, that hurts just reading. If you’ve been there you can sympathize. Oh, we can laugh now (“somebody moved the furniture while I was gone! Uh-oh, this is not my house” ). I had one of those ONCE (and it was tequila that inflicted the damage), and that was enough. Goodman sure gave us painful and humorous reminder, though, just in case.
