Last Saturday was very hot here where I am. It was 34C and very sunny. I was not in the mood to go out but I was in the mood for making something that cool me down.
I made an Ube (Filipino word of purple yam) ice cream. I got an Ube Fiesta Kit package from the social management of the Philippine Consulate General in Frankfurt. The package included Ube powder and ube flavouring. So, I made an ice cream out of them besides adding them double cream, fresh milk and coconut milk. It was easy to make ice cream. A No-Churn dessert for summer.
There was an Ube Fiesta Festival in Germany but I was not able to visit it as I was somewhere else. As a thank you for the package, I wrote a recipe of my ube ice cream. Now, some of my friends are asking me to make the Ube ice cream for them to taste and I said yes. We will be having get together with my friends before they go to their vacation.
Have you tried Ube or purple yam ice cream?
Thank you for reading. Have a wonderful week fellow Mylotters.

No, but I wouldn't be adverse. They have a Filipina festival in Richmond every year. They might have that

That’s great @snowy22315. They might have it. Maybe they might have an Ube or purple yam cake. Thank you. Enjoy your day.

@thelme55 Yes, I would like to go to that festival this summer if possible, but they always seem to have it when it is beastly hot.

Yes that is my favorite. I love it with real ube bits not just ube powder or flavor

@thelme55 I heard ube from Bohol is the best ube in our country. That is good it is real powder of real ube. I don't like just flavorings and artificial colors

Yes, with ube bits, it is more delicious. When I go to the Asian supermarket next time, I will check if there is an imported ube for sale. Actually, this ube powder was made from the dried ube from Bohol. Thank you @averygirl72.

@thelme55 They might grow purple yams in the US, I'm not sure if farmers do.

Your ice cream has a very nice color and looks very firm. Did you add sugar or is this yam already sweet? I would certainly like to try your ube ice cream.
