Not so many days on my own after all

Vince, my husband, rang this morning to say he will be home late tonight. If you read my previous post/s, you’ll know he and his brother went off for a couple of days providing support to the brother’s grandson who was attempting to ride from Fremantle to Melbourne to raise funds for Canteen, a cancer charity.
The young man has hurt his knee somehow and has had to call the ride off. He will be very disappointed I’m sure. He is a physical education specialist and luckily doesn’t have to be back at work till late July so at least he’ll, hopefully, have time to recover from whatever damage he has done to himself.
The other news is that the carpet-layer will be at my brother-in-law’s on Saturday and he needs to empty out three bedrooms so he will appreciate the extra day/s at home. We will probably go up and help tomorrow as we have no other engagements.
The photo shows a Californian couple who unloaded their bikes from a plane in Sydney, assembled them in the airport then took off west towards Perth. They don’t look mad, do they? That’s a joke of course. They were lovely people and we enjoyed having them for a night.

@Laurakemunto It seems he has just perhaps twisted it a bit but he couldn't carry on for such a great distance with it like it is.

They look like a well suited couple. I enjoyed cycling too. Now, I focus on jogging simply because I have no bikes.

Strong friends, riding bikes after plane ride! Maybe another time for fund raising? You've got a lot to do, now new carpets at family home! July 4th holiday coming. I'm not doing anything, special, just watch news of fireworks. Did laundry early, so, all done. Might go shopping for orange juice.

They took the bikes on as hand luggage. I would have thought they would be too big.

I have the same bike touring bags as the American couple, but in yellow. On YouTube there are lots of videos on how to take your bike by air and go cycle touring. Interesting about your man's knee, I have to be careful about my knees too

I have seen cyclists and bikers in India moving through different places to convey some message. Lucky your husband is coming back.

@JudyEv That's why they stop their bikes at different service stations while the continue the ride.

I'm sorry that the young man hurt his knee. We would love to get new carpet; but there would be SO much to move.

The Americans we've met have all been very lovely. One worked with Boz Scaggs and could have got us tickets if we'd known.

I hope that Vince brother's grandson is fine. That was a hard thing to try to collect funds.
