From The Jaws Of Death

Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you felt death was inevitable, but you survived? Could have been a medical condition ,natural disaster or facing a wild animal with meat on its mind- - yet you beat the odds and lived to tell the tale. I was in such a situation but knew nothing about it - l was just six months old. My mother who was with me at the time told me about it. Both of us could have lost our lives. When we survive certain life threatening experiences , we know for sure that we are here for a purpose. What was your life threatening experience? Have you ever been in the Jaws of death? Way back 2004, I almost fell into the ravine. My head went blank..i just mentioned God's name (Jehovah) and it saved me. The bus I was on almost fell

My grandmother had a similar experience. She has an amazing story. She was a Jehovah's witness too.

Well maybe not that close, but I have had scary experiences, like the open heart surgery I had as a child as well as being in a tornado and earthquake.

That is a very important surgery you had as a child, and you pulled through, that's a lot to be thankful for. I have never experienced a tornado or a strong earthquake, but l have experienced deadly hurricanes.

I drowned when I was 18. A friend jumped into the river, dragged me out and gave me mouth-to-mouth...

@Kandae11 Yeah, the paramedics showed up after it was all over. They still spent over an hour checking me out.

Sure glad you and your mom survived. I guess the closest I came was when I had a kidney stone that was lodged and I went into septic shock. The nurses and doctors worked around the clock and thank God I not only lived, but didn't have any organ damage. My doctor said if we had gone to a larger ER another 40 minutes away that I probably wouldn't have survived.

@Kandae11 That was true. If I had realized how sick I was, we would have gone to the bigger hospital that was farther away. But we went to a closer, smaller ER that ended up saving my life. God was so merciful!

It happened to me once when I was following an office-funded education. I felt my head was aching so much like being cut by a knife. I thought I would die there but by the help of God, I survived.

@Kandae11 I didn't know I thought someone sent spell on me or maybe I was too stressed. I saw doctors, they didn't know what it was.

Oh my goodness - well I'm glad you and your mom survived . . . perhaps it is best that you do not remember any of it. I have been fortunate to not have gone through a truly life threatening experience and hope never to .

Yes, it happened, when I was attacked in Miami by three young men who wanted to get my handbag. I tried to resist, they hit me, I fell, I hit my head on the curb, I fainted and I re-opened my eyes after a while totally confused and not knowing where I was.

@Kandae11 The accident spoiled our vacation in Miami. The policeman told me never try to resist again, I assured him that I would have never come back to Miami again.

The natural instinct is to resist, but doing that can be dangerous. I am truly glad that it didn't turn out much worse.

No, I haven't encountered this and I hope I don't get to. It's scary in these circumstances and I may not survive the stress and anxiousness. Glad that you have survived yours. Yes, your duty on earth is not yet done, so you survived.

With natural disasters there is always anxiety and stress. Here in the Caribbean we face that every year during the hurricane season. Hopefully there will be no dangerous storms this year.

I fell twice when I was a little kid. During first grade, I climbed up the wall of the stage and fell on the ground. Another instance was when fell from a guava tree. I could lose my life at an early age if I fell head first.
