My daughter was just let go from her job

She's had multiple interviews, starting a month ago. My gut said it was coming when they brought in an 'assistant' for her, gave the assistant her office and put her in the storage room. That's when she began looking for work. She had two interviews at lunch today, another while she was packing her things in the car and two more scheduled later this week. She's a good worker and smart as hell. She can pick up things faster than anyone I know. Ideally, she'd like to work in the food industry, as in produce imports or cold storage of food items. She knows accounting, warehousing, shipping, receiving, office management and is an expert in Microsoft Office. She can type well over 100wpm. I just don't understand why they took a dislike to her within a couple of weeks. Personality clashes do happen. My boss at one job was angry I was hired and undermined me every chance she got. It took three business managers for her to convince them to terminate me. Like my daughter, I was relieved and left them a scathing exit interview on the lack of professionalism this particular boss had. In fact, the man who terminated me kept asking if my boss really knew her job. She was subsequently sent halfway across the country where she had no employees under her. She had been the accounting manager. She became a corporate auditor. I'd like to see something like that happen to the girl who worked extra hard turning the boss against my daughter. But, she's optimistic. She's always been able to get a job. She was even laughing when she texted me.

@JimBo452020 I know. If that company only wants a girl's club, then let them have at it. As my daughter said, karma awaits.

That is a good attitude your daughter have. She knows she has bargaining power and can easily find another job. That is why she doesnt worry about it. I had that attitude too when I was 23. Now I am 42 and I want to have that attitude again so I'm learning new skills and improving my linkedin profile and other application papers.

She said when she was told she was being let go, the woman asked her how she was feeling. She started laughing and said, I'm just fine. I knew this was coming. The woman was surprised. Hello? They gave big enough clues!

It's sad when that seems to happen for no reason. But she'll pick up another job quickly. Sounds like she's doing the best she can.

The dynamics of that particular office were strange. I'm glad she's no longer there.

If someone takes a dislike on us, better to find another job and move, working in a toxic place is not a lot of fun.

Definitely. Even if you like what you're doing, one person can make the work environment very unpleasant.

Every job does not always work out for every person. Sometimes one of the people with a bit of power can make others miserable. And that can make life extremely unpleasant and stressful. She will find another job, there are a lot of jobs out there right now. She doesn't sound like she will give up and not try, she will be OK.

She has a third interview for a food distribution company as their logistics coordinator. She had applied for the billing coordinator position, but when they saw her background, they interviewed her for that instead. If it goes well, she'll be working soon.

As do I. She needs some validation right now. The two jobs she liked the most and learned the most in also went out of business shortly after she left because of how poorly they were managed.

She has a third interview tomorrow at a good distribution company, which is the kind of job she wants. Third interviews are the final round. I hope they choose her.

I'm pretty sure she will. She has a third interview tomorrow in an industry she loves as a logistics coordinator, something she did before. She already knows several of their customers and trucking companies from working with them before.

The one woman kept telling the boss she wasn't doing the job correctly or that she had used the company credit card workout authorization. (She'd used her own money to buy supplies that she took with her when she left. She always has.) They brought in the best friend of one of their daughters for two days a week and are having a ball with her. Deb just wasn't a gossip girl who liked to dish dirt and they were.
