@FourWalls mentions a comment by Jackson Browne in her discussion https://www.mylot.com/post/3515177/1972-songs-doctor-my-eyes. She quotes Browne as saying “It’s so hard to write a song about nothing.” And that gave me the inspiration for this discussion as I have nothing much to write about really. So thanks, FourWalls. We’re going to lunch on Friday. Vince’s god-daughter and her two daughters will be over from South Australia and we’re looking forward to seeing them. We have kept in touch for a good many years and have seen them from time to time. Then, on Monday, we’re having a dinner party for seven. Vince’s younger brother will be going to England the following week so he, two other siblings and their spouses are coming for a meal. Vince is very busily planning a menu befitting of the occasion. At the moment, it looks like seafood bisque, crown roast of pork and bavarois to finish. I hope I remember to take photos.

It seems like I did have something to write about after all. Funny that!

It appears like you will have a busy day. It appears that you will genuinely appreciate your visitors' company. I'm sure your husband would be delighted to have them over to your place to sample some of the foods he's preparing.

I like the menu that Vince is planning, of course we expect to see the photo of his creations.

I remember those two babies in the photos, they were just too cute, I remember the boy, funny round face, they both very cute.

They were living in York but have moved now, not too far away, and I think to a big town that starts with an 'H'. Is that any help?

I'm not sure where you are but for some reason I thought in the south.

Baravois is a sort of rich custard. It has gelatine in it and you put the mixture in dariole moulds and hopefully it comes out in little mounds.

Enjoy! Only a few days ago I thought how we usually got together with friends around a table with nice things to eat. Today, while Dixie was talking to me by phone, she called Humberto to eat the lasagna she had made. And I, for the first time in maybe years, was not interested in the food she was making. I usually take for granted good food because I can eat almost any thing. But now with my stomach problems, I hardly want to have a mug of broth

@JudyEv I'm sure that was quite scary. I've never had a runaway when I was riding in a wagon but we used Shetland Ponies to pull us around.

I always had a sheep or a goat as a child and mostly they had a cart. Here is Bunty but I didn't have very good steering or brakes and she became a runaway!
