Former Primer Minister Of Japan Assassinated

Mojave, California
July 8, 2022 5:32am CST
The longest running one too Shinzo Abe dies after being shot in Japan and its rare for Japan to have guns. Unless you in the military. They say he dominated Japanese politics for close to a decade. Handguns are not even allowed in Japan. It sent shock waves through the country. He was aligned with Trump and Trump sent his condolences. The violence never stops what ever your politics. Makes you wonder what is the point of anything if going to be so violent?

I heard on the news this morning. I think they still don't know the reasons behind this.

@nela13 The killer is a veteran of the Japanese navy. It seems it's not a political reason.

That's shocking. Japan has one of the lowest crime rates of any country.

Indeed and to be honest not my land but I felt so safe there. Here I have been locked up 10 times on silly things like one night stays but still in Japan lets get you home safe buddy. It is pretty crazy when you think about.

Caught me off guard, they barely have crime other than maybe someone drank to much or kids being jerks like kids can be.

For all the Prime Ministers of Japan, Abe is one my only known minister maybe because he's in the office during my time.

Could be, I remember the name but when I was in country they did not talk politics what so ever. When I was there the young people were America this and America that, but a lot had to do with music because 90's music was dominating the airwaves.

May his soul rest in peace. The assassinator didn't try to escape. It appears that he was prepared to get arrested.

This shocked me--When I lived there it always felt so safe--I suspect it still feels much safer than it does here--

@crossbones27 I worked there in my early 20s. I learned to speak and read Japanese when I lived there.

Good, glad someone did, people always look to America, many bad things in place outside of America. If everyone cares about freedom or most people they should watch whole world.

This breaking news came as a shock. May his soul rest in peace. He was a tall leader and a very popular one. The 42 years old suspect is arrested but the reason behind this crime is not yet out.

It looks that way sad to say. Connected global world why we all have to pay attention to what each other is doing sad to say. This my land go away. But your land owe me and your land goes but you owe me. Global economy is terrifying.

Probably Japanese people cannot put up with him due to his having long power. I am not sure of it; I may be wrong.

I am not sure either I tried to read closely but does not sound he was loved but people definitely do not like that was the answer to the disagreement. Japanese civilians are amazing people who have so much honor. They are not going to be happy or stand for that kind of vigilante justice from what it sounds to me being a American which opinion means nothing to them. To me just shows how bad people at odds with each other though.
