Alice Taylor who lives inside of her home in Monrovia California received the shock of her life on Thursday when a female bear and her cub managed to break down by taking down a window screen to enter her home and eat some donuts that were seen on a kitchen table. Since Alice was inside of her home when the bear and the cub who mostly likely could smell the odor coming inside of her kitchen home and were hungry decided to keep her distance from the pair by making noises which forced the bear and her cub to leave the home the same way that they came in via the open window that was broken by the bears. It is evident that the drought conditions around the world have caused bears to leave their residences in the woods to break into houses in the populated areas which will be the case for a long period of time.

That would be scary to have bears break into your home.I believe after that I’d place bars on the windows.

@RubyHawk I remember when I lived in the suburbs of New Orleans a housing inspector told me and my relatives that having a bar on the window to keep out burglars would be a liability in case of a fire.

That is a good idea for residences in California to place bars on their windows even though house inspectors would say that steel bars would prevent a homeowner to flee through a window in case of a fire.

@Deepizzaguy you’re probably right I didn’t think about fires.

They were hungry. I hope they found other eatables outside of Alice's home to satisfy them.

I understand that bears when they see food, they will come and eat food to survive. I am sure they found plenty of food inside of Alice's home to eat.

I thought they had the chance to eat only the donuts before Alice scared them off.

@Kandae11 The bear also decided to borrow food from the fridge when Alice scared her and her cub away.

Although it was cute to see these bears, however, it was still dangerous for human beings. After all, the bears are big animals. I hope they won't go back to her house to get some snacks. I hope they will find enough food from the wild zone.

I fear bears more than I fear a dog since they are dangerous animals not to be messed with in the first place.

I know what you mean since animal control officers believe that animals and humans can peacefully coexist together in California.

We had a bear in our cherry tree the other day. He did a lot of damage with his "natural pruning" which was even worse than the fact that he ate most of my cherries! I often think about the fact that a bear could easily enter my house if he took a notion. But really these bear encounters are more our fault than the fault of the bears. We have built our houses in their territory and have then left things around that smell tasty to them. Their sense of smell is more sensitive than ours.

I did not know that bears have a stronger sense of smell than humans.

Now that's a sight I would not want to come across! Unfortunately, the Bear populations are increasing, and they have no territory to inhabit. With no controls in place to limit their population they will wander from the rural areas into the suburbs, which is now starting to happen in my state, NJ. With so many bears it limits their food source which is another reason for them descending into human populated areas.

@Deepizzaguy Yes, it's becoming a problem. Same with deer's here.

They will have to be removed and relocated to the wild or they will continue those kinds of behaviors. It is really bad the adult bear is teaching her cub this.

I guess bears are obsessed with eating food inside of a home even if they are sent back to the woods by animal control officials.

That might have been scary to her. Bears are dangerous and can kill if they want to.

That is pretty scary if bears are breaking into houses when the people are still in them.

You have to be VERY careful of a mama bear and her cubs. I'm glad they left peacefully.

A mom bear will defend her children when someone threatens her child and herself. I would stay away from a bear if I saw one inside of my home.
