Playing around with photos

A couple of my recent posts have talked about my husband’s entries in a Facebook photography site challenge. These are low-key competitions. There are no prizes and there is no big furore if people don’t agree with the decisions. Someone chooses a theme for the week and the photo has to be taken within that week.
The challenge is designed to motivate the members to try something a bit different, to think outside the box a little. A recent theme was ‘distorted’ and you can see Vince’s attempt here.
There is a new development going up next door to our community and there are three metal sunflowers at the entrance to the area. Vince applied some ‘layers’ to the photo and played around a bit with it and came up with this which, to me, is a bit reminiscent of Van Gogh. I really like it. What do you think?
Edit: Thanks, Malu, for picking up the error.

That's a very cool edit. It does remind me of Van Gogh.

The swirly flowers have a bit of a Van Gough effect. It's nice.

It could be, if the fence turns out to be a sunflower. The photo is beautiful.

A Van Gogh in the making? Hope that happens.

That would be good, wouldn't it? To come up with a few Van Goghs.

The contest sounds so interesting. I am sure that these help people think out of the box and to get better at their photography skills.
Wishing Vince all the luck.

@arunima25 No-one minds if they don't win but they comment on each other's photos and exchange ideas and tips so it's all good.

@JudyEv Well, I am sure that there would be many impressive entries there. And whether he won or not might not be that important. It's a wonderful photography and there is no doubt about that
And he did enjoy it.

I never go into photography competition but previously I used a lot of Adobe Photoshop to change the photo to look like a new photo. I enjoyed it but since I had no more photo shop installed, I didn't play around with it any more.
