How long can you eat the same thing for?

I had boiled tongue with boiled basmati rice and sour cabbage salad for dinner for two days already. I still have tongue left, which I have to eat as I hate throwing food away. And I don't mind eating it for three days. However, I don't want to eat exactly the same thing for dinner as I had yesterday. Maybe I can saute both in the skillet. That would be a slightly different preparation of the same thing. Or maybe I should just switch rice with pasta. Thing is, I've been eating a lot of pasta lately and don't really want to eat it now. No potatoes and no veggies either so can't really have any other sides.

I can eat the same thing over and over again for a few days, if I mix it up with other sides in the meal. That way, even if the main dish is the same for three days in a row, the salads, sides or desserts are different, which then helps me feel like the whole meal is different. And sometimes, just changing the sauce or garnish can make the dish taste completely different as well.

That is a good idea. Same protein but different sides makes for a different meal for sure.

My wife hates cooking the same things. Yesterday's dinner will not be the same as today's.

That's great if she doesn't mind cooking every day.

a few days. I made Greek pasta salad and had it two days in a row, but I will have to eat something else tonight. I don't like eating the same thing more than two or three days in a row.

Of course, I'd prefer something different every day / night but that means cooking multiple times a day every day. Don't always want to do that. And that also means buying more stuff.

@lovebuglena - I always do and it is perfect when you take it out to eat later.

I finally finished the beef tongue. Now it's on to salmon that in-laws brought from Alaska, which hubby's dad caught. Gonna have some today and some tomorrow.

If I make soup it always comes out to be a huge pot, so I eat it sometimes for five days straight. I don't mind that and still enjoy it but I don't really wanna eat it after that. Even if some left over I throw it out.

I sauteed it in the skillet. It still really good. And decided against having a side, aside from the sour cabbage salad. It was pretty filling without the rice or pasta, etc.

We finished it yesterday. I cut it up and put it in the skillet. It was still very good and just having that and the sour cabbage salad was enough for me. Glad I decided not to make rice or anything else to go with it.
