Been left behind

Every time I see my former classmates either in Elementary, High School or even in University with their Facebook posts, I find myself left behind. Why? I'm now working as a customer service representative of an online shopping site for fashion dress and shoes with a little above average income. Although, my salary is enough to feed my family however having no enough savings in the bank is not a good thing to see. Every salary payout, I've got a chance to deposit a maximum of $10 only but when badly needed, I'll take a withdrawal of more than $10. That's not a good practice. Going back to my first statement here, most of my former classmates with their Facebook posts seems they're already in their good. Some of them almost travel around the globe not because of being a flight attendant or a pilot but as a tourist but me I can't even go to the nearest country in the Philippines such as Taiwan. It means they have enough money to do that. Some of them posting it with building their own business or a franchise of McDonalds as well as KFC unlike me even a simple small store I don't have it. Some of them been invested in a big stock market investment here in the Philippines unlike me I'm only contented with the $1 to $5 cryptocurrency investment every month. Some of them posted that they've bought a new car and I don't know the model but based on the picture it's beautiful and elegant, unlike me been contended of riding a bus, a jeepney or a tricycle when going to somewhere else. Some of them finished already their PhD while me not able to finish my Master's Degree. Are they lucky and I'm not?

I think you need to remember you have two handsome sons, a beautiful wife, a roof over your head and enough food to feed you all. Just because others seem to have more doesn't mean they actually do or that they are happy with the things they own or the life they lead.

Consider that it is even too easy to fake to have what we do not have posting on FB... there are plenty of braggarts who are also liars.

It depends on how you perceive. Feeling a bit jealous or left out is pretty normal. But one thing is for sure that life is fair to none. Some rosy pictures shown on social media don't actually depict the real scenario in someone's life. Each one has their own share of challenges. Every one is fighting their own battle of their own kind. Be grateful for the little things around you. Trust me those little things like a loving family are often taken for granted. But then those are the precious gifts and consider yourself lucky if you have them. Count your blessings.

I have to agree that what we see on Facebook might not be 100% true and if it is then maybe they don't have the blessings you have with a family, etc.

@Marilynda1225 Yes. I do agree with that. Sometimes I wanted to delete the Facebook account but I'll be needing that to promote some of my books in Amazon as well my books here in the Philippines.

NO, I do not believe they are lucky and you are not, they are liars and you are not. So many people pretend to have money, luxury cars and nice homes and often it is not true.

@luisga814 Listen, this is something my Dad told me. When they were military, MANY (let's say 90%) of his companions said that their families were rich, they had a big house, cars, lot of money. When they came back home, ALL those RICH disappeared, only the few who said the truth could show their home because they did not brag, ALL the others were ashamed because they lied. I learnt the lesson and I could notice many time that this is true all the time.

@LadyDuck Telling a lie is somewhat telling that I'm wealthy despite I'm just eating fried eggs always in the breakfast.

Consider yourself lucky for you have loving and caring family. Material things aren't the ways to happiness. Be thankful and happy for there's roof over the head and you're all in good health. Time comes for you to shine.

@cacay1 Yes indeed. The only thing that I have in mind is to continue dreaming and do my best to have it for the future of my family. I hope so that someday my dream will not be a dream anymore.

Not everyone is rich. You are able to pay your bills; and that's a good thing. Maybe in the future you will be making more money.

@LindaOHio At least that's one good thing in my end, I still manage to pay my bills including apartment rent (although 1 day late because my rent should every 19th of the month but my salary released at 20th)

I realized I am not alone in this mindset. Another officemate of mine is also like that. She has 2 brand new cars and a driver but she told me she deleted her FAcebook account because she is jealous of her friends colleagues etc who are abroad in different countries etc etc. It is hard to feel okay when society is always assessing whether you are successful or not. Their expectations are there. But I told myself I have so much blessings and I keep working on being content and grateful. When I feel happy peaceful and doing what I enjoy like watching movies , reading books those things dont matter. A good sleep is better than all those trappings.

Do not compare yourself to anyone. Be happy with the blessings that you have in life. A lot of things you see on Facebook may not be as it seems. I see the beautiful things my friends posts . . . but I also know some of the backstories they have . . . not all of it is fantastic. I will tell you there are many who look like they live the good life, but behind the scenes is a different story. On social media, most people only want to show their best sides, but they won't tell you everything.

They not lucky or maybe they are for their way of life. People live different ways and some want wealth and some want power and some want both. Usually power means wealth but wealth does not always mean power. Most those people jerks anyway and any sane person cares nothing about power and wealth, they just want to live a good life with a cool family. How I always saw it and remember it before times got so corrupt.

@crossbones27 Yes. Sometimes, I've seen my classmates with power because they're using their wealth to help other people such as our former school with the material needs. Some of my classmates also run into politics and won in their area.

Sometimes I also feel like you but then it's a life you have to live. Many of my schoolmates are doing better than me. They have wealth and property which I don't have but thinking about it always makes me sad so I don't think much about it thank God for whatever I have as I am better than the people who don't have enough money to feed their family.

But who knows how happy they are or what their quality of life is like. I've long since learned to be content with my lot - not that I don't wish otherwise occasionally.

It took me a while to realize, never to compare where I am in life to the people I know. Every person's life is different, if we were supposed to be on the same path, have the same dream, that just wouldn't be realistic. We all can seek improvement, we can all try to manifest our dreams, but we are all on the path that we are supposed to be, even if it isn't easy.

@DesirousDreamer Yes. Just like your codename here, as a dreamer, I always find myself dreaming always that someday I'll help others to have some power. I have a pride sometimes that I don't want to accept their help specifically in finances but even if I don't want to, I'm still accepting their offer.
